Access your calling profile from anywhere using the calling user portal in webex
It is possible to temporarily load a user’s phone profile (number, features, and call plan) from one phone to another phone using this hoteling technique. Hoteling is a feature that allows you to use specific phones (hosts) by temporarily logging in to them as if they were your own phone – and in fact, this is what you can do. Hoteling Host & Hoteling Guest functions together to enable you to do this (guest) by temporarily logging in to them as if they were your own phone.
Enable and locate your host phone for hoteling
Before you begin
A guest account has to be set up for you by your administrator. Only primary lines are able to utilize the feature of hoteling, and shared lines do not have access to it.
- Choose Webex Calling from the settings menu at https://settings.webex.com.
- When in the calling user portal, you will need to turn on Hoteling on the Call Settings tab > Additional Features.
- If you wish to use the phone (host) of someone else, you will need to search for their name or number.
- Guests can be associated with the host phone for a limited period of time by checking the option listed above.
- If you want to log out automatically, you can do so by selecting how many hours before you log out you wish to log out.
- Click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
- Once the softkeys for Guest in and Guest out are enabled, you can restart your phone.
