The Users tab in Control Hub allows you to add users to devices and the Devices tab allows you to add devices to devices. The person can use a room or desk device as a personal device and get their Webex calls and meetings directly on their device when they are assigned a room or desk device as their own.
Add a room device from the Users tab
The Webex Calling professional license will allow a user with a Webex Calling professional license to make (or receive) external calls from their personal room system device, using a phone number that they specify, or by calling an extension from the device.
The Webex app will continue to route any calls made using URI as long as they are made using URI.
The customer view in the admin section of the Webex platform can be accessed by clicking on the Users button and selecting the user you would like to assign the device to.
You can choose one of the following options from the user panel that is displayed to the right by scrolling down to the Devices section and selecting it:

It is important to note that if the user already has a device assigned to them – click Add Webex Room Device if the user already has a device assigned to them.

If the user doesn’t have any devices already assigned, click Add Webex Room Device.
If the device is in your possession, you can activate the device on behalf of the user by copying, emailing, or printing the 16-digit activation code.
If the device is not activated by the user prior to its expiration date, that user is able to generate a new activation code by visiting the URL https://settings.webex.com. From there, users will also be able to add their own personal devices. Please refer to the article Getting a Room or Desk Device to Work as a Personal Device for more information.

- Go to the Devices section of the Customer view in the https://admin.webex.com site.
- Choose the Existing User option when you click on Add Device.
- Select the user that you would like to assign the device to, then click the Next button after you have found the user.
- Select the Cisco Webex Room Device from the list.
- This 16-digit activation code can be downloaded, emailed, printed, or sent to the user so that they can activate the new device on their own or, in the case that the device is in your possession, you can activate the device on behalf of the user if the device is in your possession.
It is possible for the user to generate a new activation code if the last activation code expires before the device is activated by visiting https://settings.webex.com. There is also the option for users to add their own devices from there.
