Assigning a department or cost center to extensions in zoom
The account owner and the administration have the option of assigning a department or cost center to phone users, common area phones, call queues, auto-receptionists, shared line groups, and pickup groups. It is also possible to use a CSV file to bulk assign departments to employees.
With this feature, admins can filter dashboards and usage data based on department or cost center, making it easier to analyze bill charges based on the department or cost center. Your phone charges can be broken down by the cost centers of your organization, for example, if sales and customer service are separate cost centers at your company.

How to assign or edit a cost center and department for extensions

The following extensions can be accessed by accessing the settings:

Common area phones
-
Call queues
-
Auto receptionists
-
Shared line groups
-
Call pickup group

The Cost Center or Department can be set or edited in the Profile tab by clicking Set or Edit.

Click Save after you have entered a cost center or department.
Dashboard data can be filtered by department or cost center to provide a better understanding of quality of service

Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by signing in.

Click on the Dashboard link in the navigation menu.

To access Zoom Phone, click on the Zoom Phone tab.

Click on the icon in the top-right corner of the screen, select Search by department or Search by cost center, and then type the exact name of the department or cost center in the field provided.

Viewing usage charges by department or cost center

Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by signing in.

Click Account Management from the navigation menu, and then click Reports from the drop-down list.

Please click on the Phone System tab.

Select the Charge tab from the menu.
There will be a column for each Department and a column for each Cost Center in the table. -
The export option is available on the search results page when you click Export.

A spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel can be used to open the CSV file. By using a spreadsheet application, you are able to filter data according to departments or cost centers.
