Attending Zoom Events expo
In expos, as an attendee, you have the opportunity to manage your data, check out the products and services of different booths, and network with other participants. With Zoom Events’ Expo feature, event organizers can set up virtual exhibitions that allow attendees to interact with exhibitors and other attendees through the use of co-blogging and networking features.

Note: On August 17, 2021, Microsoft will cease to support Internet Explorer 11 for computers running Windows XP and Windows Vista. After this date, Zoom users will still be able to use Zoom on IE, but we will no longer be able to support IE, fix issues related to IE, or offer any support to IE users.

How to access expo from the event lobby
From the event lobby, participants can either choose to use the desktop client or a web browser to join the expo. As a result of the web browser support for expo, users are now able to join expo using their web browser, and their experience will be no different from that of using Zoom.

On the top navigation menu of the event, click on the Expo tab to access the event’s Expo page.

How to complete the onboarding flow
Once you have accessed the Expo tab, you will need to go through a one-time onboarding flow in order to be placed on the expo floor once you have entered the tab. In the event that you return to expo again, you will immediately be placed on the expo floor as soon as you have completed the onboarding flow. There are many instances in which this might apply, such as attending an expo on a different day but still attending the same event.
A short series of windows is used to help you gain an understanding of the expo process during the onboarding process.

Upon entering the Expo, you will see a welcome screen! You will be presented with a dialog box that details the onboarding process. Read all of the information carefully and click Continue.

The onboarding process will be completed when you click OK in the Navigating Expo dialog box.
How to complete your expo profile

Your profile picture can be found in the upper right corner of your screen.

Then click on the Create a Profile button.

If you would like to create a profile for yourself, please enter the following information:
-
Name: Please enter your name in the box below.
-
Position: If you know what your position/title is, please enter it here.

Company: If you are associated with a company, please display the name of the company.
-
Headline: Tell us a little bit about yourself in the form of a fun fact or tagline.

(Optional) If you would like to upload a cover photo, click on Change Photo.

When you are done, click the Done button.

Click Go to My Profile if you would like to return to your profile.
-
Zoom Events provides you with the ability to edit your profile information.
-
All attendees will be able to see your profile image. To change your profile picture, you need to update the image in the Zoom web portal; if you want to change it, you need to update your image in the Zoom web portal. If you don’t have a profile picture, your initials will be used instead in the Display Name field on the Zoom web portal if there is no profile picture.

Using your profile link, other Zoom users will be able to see the basic information about you that you have provided.
How to navigate the expo floor
The expo floor will be placed in front of you once you have completed the one-time onboarding flow. If you choose to place your avatar above the Welcome area by default, it will be placed right above your avatar. Here you can use your mouse to move your avatar around the floor by pressing the arrow keys on your keyboard or using the keyboard arrow keys to move your avatar as follows:

Using the mouse, you can choose the location of your avatar by clicking on it. There will be a movement of your avatar directly to the place where you clicked. The expo floor can be navigated with the use of your mouse by clicking and dragging or by ‘clicking-to-advance’.

It is possible to click and drag the expo floor (and booth floor) within your window, moving the floor map around as needed.

It is important to note that when you click and drag the map, your avatar will remain in view and will stay at the same position.
The avatar of your avatar will move to the booth that you select when you click Enter Booth to access it.

If you wish to direct your avatar around the floor of the expo using your keyboard arrow keys, use the arrow keys on the keyboard.

If you would like to zoom in and out of the floor of the expo, you can use your keyboard +/- keys, your mouse wheel, your trackpad, or your trackpad +++ to zoom in and out.
How to join booth and spaces

If you want to be a part of an expo booth, move your avatar to the booth on the expo floor map that you wish to join.

You can enter the booth by clicking the Enter Booth button on the booth.
During this event, you will be able to join other attendees in the booth where you will be able to observe various spaces (meeting sessions) taking place.-
Livestreaming will be enabled, disabled, or not enabled in the spaces that are active, regardless of whether livestreaming is enabled for their space or not.

There will be a message displayed on inactive spaces that says: This space is inactive. I look forward to seeing you later. As a result, you will not be able to join any active sessions that are currently in session.

If you would like to join a space, you will need to click Join on that space.

On the Expo toolbar, there is a button called Leave Booth that can be clicked to leave the booth.
You will be able to see your avatar on the expo floor outside of the booth where you have your booth.

Even if a session is not livestreamed, expo attendees can still join booth sessions.

After joining a booth space (meeting session) on Zoom Events online, participants can use audio via PSTN/SIP if the Zoom Events host has PSTN/SIP enabled in its software.
How to use the expo toolbars
Expo floor toolbar
In the bottom left corner of the expo floor, there is a toolbar that allows you to view and use a number of options including the following:
- Search bar
- Settings
- Spatial View
- Near Me
- Mini Map
- Zoom in /Zoom out
Search bar
Using the search bar on the floor of the expo will enable you to identify booths or other elements related to the event. Both the spatial and non-spatial views of the map can be used to search for items using the search bar. You can click Enter from the pop-up search results when you enter the booth’s name and you will be able to enter the booth as soon as you click Enter.
Settings
Settings
includes the Spatial View option. When you click the Settings
icon, an Expo Settings pop-up box will appear, displaying the Spacial View toggle. To close the pop-up box, click the Settings
icon again.
- Spatial View: The default spatial view can be enabled or disabled by clicking the Spacial View toggle under the Expo Settings tab. If you prefer a non-spatial view instead of the default spatial view, you can easily do so.

You will not be able to see your own avatar or the avatars of any other participants if you choose the non-spatial view. It is the same for all the other experiences, such as joining a booth, joining a session, and so on, as for the spatial view of the event. Participants with accessibility needs and those who prefer to navigate using keyboards only should be able to take advantage of this experience.

In the non-spatial view, the only toggle on the toolbar that can be toggled is the Spatial View toggle. The non-spatial booth toolbar, when you are positioned in a booth, will be identical to the Expo booth toolbar when viewed from the spatial viewpoint.

It is important to note that customized elements are applied automatically to non-spatial views as well.

Near Me
Click Near Me
A pop-up box will appear. Click on it to open it. As soon as the pop-up box appears, you will be able to locate booths and other participants nearby based on the distance between your avatar and the booths.

As you scroll down in the booth listing, you will be able to see which booths are closest to you.

To view the profile of any attendee from the list of attendees, click the attendee’s name from the list. Click on Chat if you would like to initiate a 1:1 chat request with them – if you think they would be interested in networking with you.
By clicking the Near Me icon again, you will be able to close the right panel.
Map
Click the Mini Map
In order to visualize the expo floor in a miniature preview with a dot indicator to represent the avatar. As attendees work their way through the mini map, they can click and drag the view box on the screen in order to see changes as they are made.
It is always open by default, but if you click the map icon on the top right corner, you will be able to minimize it.
Avatars have dot indicators that offer an indication of where their avatars are located, as well as zooming in and out of the map.

To zoom in on the image, click on it
The button on the right will allow you to enlarge a particular area of the expo floor. You can zoom out by clicking on the zoom out button
The expo floor area can be reduced by clicking the icon on the right side of the screen.

The following options are available from the toolbar that can be found on the bottom left corner of your screen when you are in an Expo booth:
- Settings
- Spatial View
- Near Me
- Leave Booth
How to use expo chat
Understand the chat panel’s navigation view
Attendees can see chat notifications on the Chat panel’s navigation view in the Chat panel. Chats with private numbers (e.g. 1:1) have numbered notifications, while chats with public numbers (e.g. expo chats) have general notifications.
It is also possible to view the number of participants in the event when viewing the list of all attendees in chat as well. Upon joining the lobby chat, if more than 1,000 users join the chat, then the total number of participants will be shown as 1,001+, 2,000+, and so forth.
The back navigation arrow will appear when you are in a chat
From a chat view, click on the navigation view button to access the navigation view; this link will always be visible. There are several options available in the navigation view, including:
- Lobby Chat channel: In the lobby, you will be able to chat with other members when you click this.
- Connections: This will allow you to view your current list of connections and any connection requests that you have pending for this event by clicking on this button.
- Chats:During this event, all 1:1 chats will be included in this list. In order to expand or minimize your 1:1 chats, you can use the dropdown menu. Whenever you click on one of the chat channels, you will be taken to that specific channel of the chat.
- Sessions: Each session that you have registered for will have its own chat channel, and the channel name is based on the name of the session for which you have registered. You can expand or minimize the chats in your sessions by using the Sessions dropdown menu. In order to enter a specific chat channel, you need to click the chat icon within that specific chat window.
- Sponsors: As part of your interaction with the booth or sponsor, you will have access to each booth’s chat channel. When you click the dropdown menu for Sponsors you will be able to expand or minimize the chats from your sponsors. It is possible to enter a particular chat channel by clicking on a particular chat, which will take you there.
Use expo chat

In the Chat panel, you will need to find and click on the chat that you would like to join.

In the chat channel, you will be able to view, enter, and reply to chat messages.
You will be able to share your messages with other participants at the event and they will be able to react and respond to them. -
When you hover your mouse over a message, click the reaction button that appears beneath the message

Whenever you receive a chat message, you will be able to respond to it.

Click the back arrow in the upper left-hand corner of the chat window to return to the previous page
The navigation view of the Chat panel can be returned by clicking on the back arrow. -
You can upload files (in a private chat) by clicking on the file upload button at the bottom of the chat window and then select the file you wish to open.
Note: There is no limit to the number of files attendees can upload in private chats.

It is only possible for attendees to send URLs and upload files in private chats during the event.

In public chats, hosts and moderators have the option of uploading files and sending URLs.
Use expo booth and sponsor group chat
It is possible for you to communicate with other users and sponsors in a group chat when you join a booth in the expo. It is important to note that you will be unable to see group chats for the booth or sponsors unless you join the booth. It is automatically assigned that the booth owner will serve as the chat admin, and both the booth owner and booth representative(s) will be placed in the chat channel as well. There is a separate booth chat feature in this chat feature that provides a persistent, continuous conversation relevant to any booth that is separate from in-meeting chat. There is a common chat panel that you can see throughout the Zoom Event in which booth chats can be found.
In the chat navigation panel, under Sponsors, you will find a list of chats relating to the expo booth and the sponsor groups.
During the Expo Chat, you will have the opportunity to talk to other attendees and representatives from sponsors.

You can enter a booth at the expo and display your products.

There are a number of ways in which you can access and join the booth chat:

Please click the Join booth chat button if you are able to view the pop-up notification when your chat is minimized.

Join the booth chat by clicking on the booth chat menu in the chat navigation menu if your chat navigation is open. As soon as you click on the navigation menu, you will see the booth that is currently selected.

There is a sponsor group chat as well as the expo booth chat under the Sponsors section of the chat navigation panel.

Click on a contact to bring up a list of their details.

Open Chat: By clicking this button, you will be able to open a chat conversation.

Block Attendee: It is possible to block this person; if you choose to block them, they can no longer send you any chat messages, and their name will be removed from your chat list (and your name will also be removed from their chat list).
Notes:-
A user cannot be unblocked once they have been blocked by you.

There will be no Chat button visible for blocked attendees to send you any new chat requests if they click your virtual name tag after you block them.
