Updated Bang & Olufsen app pairing procedure

The Bang & Olufsen app and the Cisco Cisco 980 have been improved jointly by Bang & Olufsen and Cisco. Whenever you pair a headset to the app or transfer ownership, you are now asked to confirm ownership.

Your headset does not require any software updates. The Bang & Olufsen mobile app should, however, be running on the latest version of the phone so that you can enjoy the best experience. If the app is updated after the release of the B&O Cisco 980 headset, users of the app will be prompted to confirm ownership of their headset.

For the B&O app to successfully re-pair your headset after you’ve done a factory reset on it, you will have to close and re-open it completely.

The Bang & Olufsen app provides more information about how to pair your headset with the app and how to customize it.

Firmware version 3.1.86

Upgrades through Cisco Accessory Hub

Through the Cisco Accessory Hub, you will now be able to upgrade your Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980.

You can upgrade the hardware firmware of your Bang & Olufsen headset using the Cisco Accessory Hub instead of having to download the Bang & Olufsen mobile application on your mobile device.

You simply need to connect your headset to a USB port on your computer, and follow the instructions on the screen in order to setup Cisco Accessory Hub. See https://upgrade.cisco.com/accessories for more information.

There is no support for Cisco Accessory Hub at the moment. The Cisco Accessory Hub is compatible with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, version 92 or later.

Personalize your headset name in the Bang & Olufsen App

It is possible to provide a unique name to your headset through the Bang & Olufsen mobile app. When you change the name of the headset, it will appear in the Bluetooth device list and is saved on the headset. With the Reset Settings button in the app, you can change the name of your headset back to your default setting at any time.

The Bang & Olufsen App has a section called Customize your headset that can give you more information.

Control Hub inventory enhancement

Changing the way that the serial number appears for the B&O Cisco 980 headset in Control Hub has been done so that it is more closely aligned with the serial number for other Cisco headsets.

Minor bug fixes

After the headset went out of range with the device, a Bluetooth connectivity issue was discovered, which affected the Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, we have improved the reliability of the upgrade process.

Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980

In terms of superior design, outstanding audio quality, and leading business communication, the Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 is one of the best over-ear headsets on the market today.

There is a Cisco Headset USB HD Adapter included with the B&O Cisco 980 for use with devices that do not have a reliable Bluetooth solution, such as tablets and smartphones. Using the included USB-C to USB-A cable, the headset can also be connected to a number of other devices. In addition to acting as a charging cable, the USB-C cable can also be used to connect to any USB powered adapter to charge the device.

For your phone to work with Cisco Unified Communications Manager version 12.5(1)SU1 or later, it must have firmware release 12.7(1) or later.		The Cisco Unified Communications Manager accessories guide offers information about the Cisco IP Phone 7800 and 8800 series.

  • Bluetooth connection issues on the Cisco DX80 and Cisco DX70

    The DX80 and DX70 are some of the Webex Desk Devices that use older Bluetooth technology. The Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset, one of the most popular headsets on the market, cannot maintain a strong wireless connection with these devices. For a quality wireless experience without directly pairing the headset with your DX80 or DX70, you can use the Cisco Headset USB HD Adapter that comes with your headset.

  • Bang & Olufsen mobile app confirmation issue after a factory reset

    When you pair your headset to the Bang & Olufsen app after a factory reset, there is a possibility that the app will not be able to detect a Bang & Olufsen headset. Before you are able to pair your headset again with your B&O device after performing a factory reset, you must close and reopen the B&O app completely.
