Change the interpretation direction in Webex meetings and webinars
Only the attendees who are tuned into the language channel in which you are currently communicating will be able to hear what you have to say when you are doing a bi-directional interpretation, in which you translate from one language to another and then back to the original language. Make sure that guests who are listening to the audio channel of the language you are interpreting to can hear you by switching the direction of the language channel you are using.
When you sign up to act as an interpreter for a meeting or webinar, you will immediately be added to the audio channel that corresponds to the language that the host has designated for you. Therefore, if you were given the task of interpreting from English to Dutch, you would join the channel for the Dutch language. Both the source language and the language you are interpreting into appear on your screen, and you have the ability to toggle between the two anytime you change the language you are interpreting into.
Before you begin
Both the Webex Meetings and the Webex Webinars platforms have support for this capability. This capability is accessible through the Webex App and may be found on our Video Mesh-ready meeting platform. Determine whether or not the platform you use for meetings is compatible with Video Mesh.
This capability is not accessible for use with the Webex App when working with Webex for Government.
You can choose the language of the audio channel that you want to be heard in by clicking the appropriate button.
