Changing phone settings (client or app) in zoom
The following article provides an overview of the Zoom Phone settings that are available in both the Zoom desktop client and Zoom mobile app. There are a number of different things that can be done using Zoom Phone, such as changing the ringtone for inbound calls or viewing essential information related to your account, such as your direct and extension numbers.
Change your settings in Zoom’s web portal if you want to set up more advanced features such as voicemail and business hours for your company.

How to change phone settings from the desktop client

Start Zoom’s desktop client by signing in to your account.

Then click on your profile picture and then click on the Settings button.

On the Phone tab, click the Phone button.
Here is some information and options that you will see when you click on this link:

Direct Number: A direct number assigned to you will be displayed on this screen. Once you have hovered over the number, you can click the copy button to copy the number to the clipboard on your computer.

Company Number:

There are two numbers displayed on this screen: the main company number and your extension number. Once you have hovered over the number, click the copy button so that it can be copied to the clipboard of your computer.
Note: For your company or direct numbers, you must highlight them, right-click on them, and then select Copy from the menu that appears.

Local Dialing: The country code displayed on the screen is the one used when calling locally. In the Zoom Phone web portal, you have the option to change the setting in your Zoom Phone account.

Area Code: Displays the area code that is used when calling local numbers. You will automatically be prompted to enter an area code if you dial a number without an area code. In the Zoom Phone web portal, you will find an option to change this in your Zoom Phone settings.

Shared Line Group (only visible if you’re a member of a shared line group): In order to be notified about inbound calls routed from your shared line group, you need to enable or disable call notifications. In order to use this setting, you must have the desktop client, the mobile app, and the desk phone installed. In addition to this setting being synced across all platforms, the same setting is also synced across the web portal as well.
Note: Despite the fact that this setting is not located in the Linux client, it can be changed through Zoom’s web portal, so you should take a look at it. Please take a look at a comparison between the features of different types of phones for more information. -
Location Permission: Give Zoom permission to access your location for the purpose of making emergency calls.

Emergency Address: Displays the address you are using for emergencies at the moment. There is no emergency address detected or your address needs to be updated, so you can click Manage in order to manage your address.

Hide incoming calls while in a meeting?: While in a Zoom meeting, you can turn off notifications that notify you of incoming Zoom Phone calls.
Note: There is only one setting thatcan be applied to the Zoom desktop client, which is described below. Your provisioned desk phones will still ring if you are in a Zoom meeting using the desktop client while you are in a Zoom meeting. You will still be notified about incoming Zoom phone calls even if you are in a Zoom meeting using the mobile app if you are in a Zoom meeting using the mobile app. -

Autodial Preference ?: If you had previously given permission for a third-party app to automatically make calls, you can click Manage in order to view the apps that have received this permission, and change how long the permission is in effect for.
Note: Your admin needs to enable this feature before it can be used. -
Report problem: Click the Report button to send Zoom support diagnostic information if you are requested to do so by Zoom support. By dialing and calling #ZOOM# (#9666#), you are also able to send diagnostic information to us.
Enable or disable calls from call queues
The Zoom Phone admin can set up call queues in order to route calls to a group of users within a company. There is the option to enable or disable call notifications for inbound calls routed from one or more call queues if you are a member of one or more call queues.

In the Zoom web portal, you can see a list of the call queues you are a member of by checking your settings. There is the option to enable or disable calls from specific call queues if you are a member of several call queues.

There are three types of users who can use this setting: desktop clients, mobile apps, and desk phones. Across all platforms, including the identical setting that is applied to the web portal, this setting syncs across all platforms.

The admins have access to this status, and they can force you to enable or disable inbound notifications from your queues according to their needs.

Start Zoom’s desktop client by signing in to your account.

On the right-hand side of your profile, click on the picture of your profile.

The following options can be followed:

Using the Receive Queues Calls toggle, you will be able to toggle the ability to receive calls from call queues on and off.
Note: When you switch this toggle on, when you had previously set the toggles for specific call queues to off, your previous configuration will take effect once this toggle is switched on. -
If you wish to enable or disable call notifications from specific call queues, click the toggles beside the name of the call queue to enable or disable the call notifications.

Depending on whether your admin has enabled the option to opt out of the call queue, you will have to choose a reason for opting out.

Change the ringtone
There is only one ringtone used by Zoom for incoming meeting invitations and phone calls. It is possible to change the ringtone on your phone by going to the audio settings on your phone.

You will need to sign in to the Zoom desktop client in order to proceed.

Firstly, you need to click on the profile picture of yours, then you need to click on Settings.

The Audio tab will appear once you click on it.

Using the Ringtone Volume control bar, you can adjust the volume of the ringtone to your liking.

To adjust the volume of the Call Waiting feature, you will need to click the control bar on the left.

You can select a ringtone from the drop-down menu under the Extension section. In order to preview the ringtone, you will need to click on the play button.

Choose a ringtone from the Direct Number drop-down menu after clicking the Direct Number drop-down menu. To preview the ringtone, simply click on the play button and you will be able to hear it.
How to change phone settings for the mobile app

Using the Zoom mobile app, sign in to your account.

There is a tab called Settings that you can tap on.

It is easy to see your Zoom Phone extension and direct number when you tap the name and photo of your tap. When you tap on a number, it will be copied to the clipboard on your computer.

Direct number: This is the number that is assigned to you as a direct number.

Extension: This is the number that corresponds to your extension.

Press and hold the phone button.
As you scroll down, you will be able to see the following information and options:

Local calling: It displays the country code that is used to make local calls within the country.

Area code: Displays the area code that is used when calling local numbers. You will automatically be prompted to enter an area code if you dial a number without an area code. In the Zoom Phone web portal, you will find an option to change this in your Zoom Phone settings.

Receive Queue Calls (only visible if you’re a member of a call queue): The Zoom Phone administrator can set up call queues in order to route calls to groups of users according to their preferences. It is possible to enable or disable call notifications for inbound calls that are routed from one or more call queues if you are a member of one or more call queues. You can choose one of the following options to follow:

The Receive Queue Calls toggle can be used to enable or disable all calls from the call queues.
Note:In the event that you switch this toggle to on, and you previously set toggles off for specific call queues, your previous configuration will take effect if the toggle is switched on.
It is possible to enable or disable calls from specific call queues by clicking the toggles next to their names. By doing so, you will be able to enable or disable call notifications from those queues.
Depending on whether your admin has enabled the option to opt out of the call queue, you will have to choose a reason for opting out.

Receive Shared Line Group calls (only visible if you’re a member of a shared line group):
Inbound calls routed from your shared line group can be configured to receive call notifications when they arrive. The desktop client, the mobile app, and the desk phones are all affected by this setting. It is also possible to sync this setting across all platforms, including the identical settings on the web portal.
