Changing voicemail PIN code requirements in zoom App
Overview
Voicemail PIN requirements can be changed by administrators. Users of desk phones need a PIN to access their voicemail.
Note: The settings can only be modified at the site level if you are using multiple sites. It is only possible to change account settings if multiple sites are disabled.
Prerequisites
- Accounts for Business, Education, or Pro
- Account owners or administrators
- Licensed to use Zoom
Instructions
- Access the Zoom web portal by logging in.
- Once you have logged in, click Phone System Management and then click Company Information in the navigation menu.
- Depending on whether you have more than one site, select one of these options:
- The settings tab is available after selecting a site from the list of sites you enabled.
- Click Account Settings if you disabled multiple sites.
- In the Security section, change these settings:
Note: - The settings are enforced only when you change them. If a user’s PIN doesn’t meet the requirements, they don’t have to change it.
- PIN length:
- Minimum voicemail PIN length. It can be anywhere from four to twenty characters.
- The PIN is not the same as the extension number:
- Users should not be allowed to set a PIN matching their extension number.
- The PIN cannot contain a group of repeated digits:
- You should not allow customers to create PINs which contain repeating numbers, for example, the numbers 111111 and 333333.
- The PIN cannot be an ascending or descending group of digits:
- The phone user should not be able to enter a 4-digit PIN that contains a series of numbers that ascends or descends. Examples of such are 123456 and 987654.
- Update PIN frequency:
- You can set how often you want to update the PIN of the phone user.
