Cisco Desk Camera best practices in webex
In order to make the most of your Cisco Desk Camera, please keep these limitations in mind.
-
It is very important that you place your device in a space that is ventilated and dry. It is capable of operating in a temperature range between 32°F and 104°F (0°C and 40°C).
-
In order to prevent your camera from getting damaged by water or liquids, don’t expose it to it.
-
Your computer should be kept up-to-date with the latest USB drivers.
-
You should ensure that the USB port to which you attach your camera is capable of both providing power and conveying data as well.
-
Make sure the camera is in an appropriate lighting environment. There is a possibility that your video image will be underexposed or overexposed if there is a strong backlight or front light. Cisco Desk Camera app lets you adjust brightness manually if you cannot change the lighting.
-
Your camera has a privacy shutter that allows you to switch between streaming a video and not streaming a video. Rather than disconnecting and reconnecting your camera every time you want to pause or resume your video stream, you can slide the shutter on or off by swiping it right or left.
-
Please make sure that you close all other applications on your computer that may be using your camera at the same time as you use your camera with an application on your computer. In Windows, you can only run one application at a time, but in Mac OS, you can run multiple applications simultaneously.
-
It’s recommended to center yourself in the frame and enable the Best Overview feature before you activate it, in order for it to perform at its best. This is only applicable to Cisco Desk Camera 4K models.
-
It is necessary to have an IR sensor for Windows Hello on the Cisco Desk Camera 4K as this camera does not have it. The sensor should not be blocked in any way. Your Webex Desk Camera has an IR sensor that can be located by having a look at it.
-
If there is dirt on the surface of your camera or on the front panel, gently wipe it with a dry, soft cloth. The front panel may be scratched by rough materials and the clarity of the image may be affected.
