Cisco Webex Edge Audio Deployment Options
Webex Edge Audio is a solution that enables calls to be made within the enterprise, without ever leaving your company network. Instead, they are routed over the internet, with Webex Edge Connect, to the Webex cloud. It is also worth mentioning that calls initiated from Webex during a meeting leverage the audio routing capabilities available on your premises.
If you have a Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) or a Cisco Expressway-E (E + C) configured in your enterprise’s network, Edge Audio can be configured to route calls using one Expressway-E, a pair of Expressways (E + C), or a Cisco Expressway-E and Cisco Expressway-E combination.
Edge Audio with Expressway-C and Expressway-E
The deployment of Edge Audio within your organization can be achieved by using Expressway C and Expressway E in conjunction with the internet. Expressways can be deployed in pairs on your network in order to create a DMZ in your network, thereby ensuring the security of audio calls that traverse public connections.

Edge Audio for Only Expressway-E
To deploy Edge Audio in your enterprise, you can use one Expressway-E in combination with Webex Edge Connect to ensure a smooth deployment. Customers are able to use this configuration to provide a more cost-effective option if the Edge Connect link does not need to traverse firewalls.
It is recommended that you refer to the Cisco Webex Edge Audio for Only Expressway-E Customer Configuration Guide if you would like more information.
Edge Audio for Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE)
Edge Audio can be deployed in your organization using a CUBE, which can be used to control the device. Based on the hardware model as well as the level of security, this configuration has the potential for providing greater scalability. For those of you wishing to configure Edge Audio using CUBE, we recommend that you use Webex Edge Connect rather than Edge Audio Connect.
There is a Cisco Webex Edge Audio for CUBE Customer Configuration Guide available if you would like to find out more information.
