Cloud Recording with Zoom Rooms
You can use Zoom Rooms’ cloud recording feature to record meeting video and audio to the Zoom Cloud, from which you can download and/or stream the recording. Users can view or download a recording of a meeting by receiving an email containing the link to the recording after the meeting ends. Users can also access the recording through Zoom’s website.

Prerequisites for cloud recording in Zoom Rooms
- Obtain a Zoom Education or Business license
- For Zoom Rooms
- That runs a version of Zoom Rooms that is greater than 5.0.5
- The latest version of Zoom Rooms is 5.0.5.
How to enable cloud recordings for scheduled meetings in Zoom Rooms
Enabling for the entire account
- Zoom can be accessed by logging in.
- To access account settings, click Account Management.
- Find the option for Cloud Recording under the Recording tab.
- Make sure it is enabled. The toggle should look like this.
- Click the toggle if it is not enabled. Choose how you want cloud recordings to be displayed.
- It is possible to make this setting mandatory for all users whose accounts you manage. To do so, click on the lock icon and confirm the setting by clicking Lock.
Enabling for a specific Zoom Room
- Sign in to Zoom.
- Select Zoom Rooms from the Room Management menu.
- Under the appropriate room, click Edit.
- In the Meeting tab, click Record.
- Select Cloud Recording and make sure it is enabled. Click the toggle to enable it.
- If the setting is not enabled, click it to enable it. When the verification dialog box appears, click Enable.
How to enable cloud recordings for instant meetings in Zoom Rooms
- Register for a Zoom account.
- Click Zoom Rooms in the Room Management section.
- Individual rooms or the entire account can be enabled using the location hierarchy. Click Account Settings to enable account-wide settings.
- Click Meetings.
- Verify that the Cloud Recording for instant meetings option is enabled in the Cloud Recording for instant meetings menu. You should see a toggle in the middle of the screen.
- If it is disabled, then you will have to click the tab. To enable it, click Enable.
- -Click the lock icon and then click Lock to confirm your choice. -If you want your account to have this setting applied to every user, click the lock icon, then click Lock to confirm your choice.
How to enable automatic cloud recording for Zoom Rooms
Enabling for the entire account
- Log in to Zoom.
- Select Account Management, then Account Settings, then click the Edit Account button.
- Navigate to the Recording tab and you will find an option called Automatic Recording.
- Make sure that this setting has been enabled. You should see a toggle like the one below.
- To enable the setting click the toggle if it is disabled. If you wish to apply other settings to cloud recordings click the additional settings button.
- When you click the lock icon, you will be prompted to confirm the setting. If you want this setting to be mandatory for all users in your account, click Lock to confirm the setting.
Enabling for a specific Zoom Room
- Access Zoom’s web portal by signing in.
- Select Zoom Rooms from the Room Management menu.
- Select the room you want to enable this setting for and click Edit.
- Go to Meetings, then select Recording.
- Scroll down to Automatic Recording and make sure that the setting is turned on. You will find a toggle on the right side that looks like the one below.
- You should click on the toggle if the setting is disabled. When you are prompted to verify, click Enable.
How to record a Zoom Room meeting to the cloud
- You can start an instant meeting by tapping New Meeting on your Zoom Room controller, or start a scheduled meeting by tapping Start.
- To start recording, tap Start Recording:
- You will be prompted to enter your email address if you are taking part in an instant meeting.
- You will receive the link to the cloud recording if you are attending a scheduled meeting.
- The recording can be stopped either by tapping Stop Recording or by leaving the meeting and tapping End meeting for all.
How to view a cloud recording as the meeting host
Viewing cloud recordings for scheduled meetings
- Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by signing in.
- Select Recordings.
- The cloud recording files can be viewed by clicking on the meeting topic.
Note: Once the recording is ready to view or download, the host receives an email notification.
Viewing cloud recordings for instant meetings
If you entered an email address when you started the recording, you will receive a link to the cloud recording. Click the link to view or download it.
How to view a cloud recording as an administrator
- Access the Zoom web portal by signing in.
- Then select Recording Management from the Account Management menu.
- You can view the recordings by clicking the meeting’s topic. The recording management page also allows you to manage other recordings.
Note: If the recording is still being converted, you will see a Processing Recording… message displayed at the top of the list when the recording is still being converted. Processing must be completed before the recording can be accessed.
