Configure a Static IP Address in Webex
Because your device uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) for IP addresses, the address may change each time you sign in because it is dynamically assigned. The default setting for your IP address is DHCP; however, you have the option of configuring a static IP address, often known as a fixed IP address. Static IP addresses are preferred by some administrators because they give them the ability to set unique addresses to each location and device.
Before you begin
Before you go forward and configure your static IP address, it is strongly suggested that you finish the following activities first:
- Establish a connection between your device and the network, then either register it or activate it.
- Make sure that no other device is using the static IP address that you have assigned to your computer.
- Get the IP address that corresponds to your device.
You will also need a computer or mobile device that can access the Internet and has a browser installed on it.
1 Simply enter the IP address into the address bar of your web browser to view the device page. It’s possible that the website’s security exception needs to be added and then confirmed on your end.
2 Click Setup > Edit.
3 You can enter your new IP address in any of the fields that are available.
4 Click Save.
Your web browser updates to reflect the new IP address.
