Configure Alexa for Zoom Room Appliances
With Alexa for Business, you can control your Zoom Room Appliances hands-free and consistently. It is easy to deploy, since it has a built-in solution, which requires no additional hardware. Alexa can assist users with tasks such as joining a meeting, turning up the volume, locating an available room, or providing access to guest Wi-Fi with a few easy steps.

Prerequisites
- Version 5.5.0 (926) or higher of Zoom Rooms Appliance.
- AWS account with Alexa for Business access.
How to setup an IAM user account
Your AWS admin will need access to Alexa for Business if you’re asking for an account from your organization. For your account to be associated with the AlexaforBusinessFullAccess policy, you will need to perform the following steps:
- Please visit https://console.aws.amazon.com/iam to access the IAM console.
- Click Users, type your user name into the search box, and click Log In.
You can then select your user name from the list. - After selecting Add permissions, you’ll have the option to attach existing policies directly.
- Type AlexaforBusinessFullAccess into the search box and click Search
To bring up a list of options. - Click Next, then Review, then Add permissions.
How to enable Alexa for Appliances
- Zoom Rooms can be found by logging into the Zoom web portal and clicking Room Management. Next,
You need to click on Account Settings. - Go to Meetings and scroll down to Alexa for Business. Click the link.
Create an Amazon Web Services account. - Your AWS credentials will be requested. Log in and click Enable.
- Zoom Rooms can be found under Room Management on the Zoom web portal. If you are using Zoom Rooms, you can activate Alexa for Business using the Account Settings, by navigating to your Zoom Rooms hierarchy, or by clicking the Edit button on the specific room you want.
- Once you have chosen one of the options above, click the Meeting tab and toggle the enabling of Voice Commands by clicking the Enable Voice Commands button. Click the Alexa for Business option once more. Set the city in which the room is located if you want to get local information such as weather and traffic. Save the settings.
- On the Zoom Rooms controller or touch screen, touch the Alexa Enable/Disable button to start using the feature.

Advanced commands
- Zoom Rooms can be enabled by clicking Room Management, then Zoom Rooms on the Zoom web portal. Zoom Rooms can be accessed using the Account Settings page, or you can click Edit on specific rooms.
