Configure Auto Login for Zoom Rooms

In the event that your computer restarts, Zoom Room will automatically start if auto login has been enabled. On Windows and Mac, you will be prompted to enable auto login since it is a recommended setting.

How to configure auto login

Windows

Enable Auto Login

• Run can be accessed by pressing Win+R.
• Press Enter or click OK to launch NetPlwiz from the Run dialog box.

• Enter the username you want for automatic login. It is best to use a power user account. Administrator accounts are not recommended.
• By unchecking the option Users are required to enter a user name and password to use this computer, and clicking “OK”, the option will disappear.

Note: If it is not possible for Users to enter an ID and password, follow these steps:

• • • Click on Settings.
    • Select Accounts.
    • Select Sign-in options.
    • To disable the requirement that you use Windows Hello to sign in to your Microsoft account, click the toggle to Off.
      • In order to use this computer, the user name and password must be entered by the user when using netplwiz. When disabled, the checkbox will not be visible.
• You will need to use your name and password to log in. Windows will not verify whether the password you enter for auto login is correct if you enter it incorrectly. This means that you must check the credentials carefully.

 

MacOS

Enable Auto Login

• Go to the top right of your desktop and click Spotlight Search.
• Search for people and groups.
• If the setting is currently locked, click lock in the bottom left corner of the Login Options tab.

• Click Open to reveal the administrator password.
• Then click Automatic. To enable automatic login, enter the password for the user selected.

Note: Auto-login can only be enabled once FileVault has been disabled.

Activate from Sleep Mode without a Password

• On your desktop, click Spotlight Search.
• Select Security & Privacy from the list.
• If Require password is checked, uncheck it.

• You will then be asked for your current user password.
