Configure Virtual Cameras for Calls and Meetings in Webex Control Hub
It is possible to set the usage of the virtual camera in Webex on your users’ calls and meetings using the Webex Control Hub, by enabling or disabling it.
With virtual cameras, users have the option of choosing a visual display such as a video feed, static images, a desktop share from the computer or any other combination of the above. Unlike a hardware camera, virtual cameras are software-based cameras that can be selected by users for their video feed in meetings and calls when enabled.
On MacOS, this setting is only available for enabling or disabling virtual cameras. There is no difference between enabling or disabling this setting in Windows. Windows users can always connect to virtual cameras.
Using the procedure described in Enable or Disable Virtual Cameras in Cisco Webex Meetings or at the bottom of this page, you will be able to enable virtual cameras on Webex sites.
- The Organization Settings can be found in the Management section of the customer view in the https://admin.webex.com portal.
- Toggling the setting for Virtual camera can be achieved by scrolling down to it and clicking one of the following states:
-
On—Provide macOS users in your organization with the option to select a virtual camera from a third party.
-
Off—Allows macOS users in your organization to exclude third-party virtual cameras from their meeting options, thus improving the security of your meetings.
