Converting a Yealink phone to a Zoom Phone Appliance
Administrators can convert Yealink phones into Zoom Phone Appliances, allowing the assigned user to make and receive calls using the phones. Alternatively, instead of using a Yealink as a Zoom Phone Appliance, it can be converted back to Zoom SIP mode to be provisioned with Zoom Phone.
Note: The simplified conversion process to convert an existing Yealink VP59 to a Zoom Phone Appliance applies to Yealink VP59s already provisioned in Zoom Phone.

Prerequisites
- Admin privileges or owner of the account
- On the Yealink Zoom Phone Appliances that are supported
- From version 5.6.6 and later, the Zoom Phone Appliance is not available
How to convert to a Zoom Phone Appliance
- Access the Zoom web portal by signing in.
- Select Device Management and then Device List from the navigation menu.
- On the top-right corner of the window, click the ellipses (…). Then click the Add Zoom Phone Appliance button.
- Once the process is complete, the appliance will be added.
This will result in an update of the firmware. A number of reboots may be required. In order to continue, you must wait for the update to complete and the reboots to cease. - Locate the IP address of Yealink VP59 when it is powered on.
- VP59_9.0-91.30.0.21.rom is the firmware for Yealink Zoom App.
- Connect your phone to the same network as your computer and open a web browser on your computer.
- On the address bar, type in the phone’s IP address followed by https://.
- Log in to the phone’s web interface as the administrator.
Note:Admin is the default username and admin is the default password. For help with usernames or passwords, contact the phone’s vendor. Zoom’s web portal allows you to view a password that has been set globally as an admin password. - You can do this by visiting Settings and upgrading.
- Upgrade the firmware by clicking Browse, then selecting the Yealink file and clicking Upload.
Several minutes may pass before the update is complete. The phone should not be turned off during this process. It will reboot after the firmware has been installed. - The language and PIN must now be set after the phone reboots.

How to convert back to Zoom SIP mode
Note:
You can obtain a license directly from your Yealink portal and if you are having trouble finding it, you can contact Yealink support. If you do not find your license, you can contact Yealink support. You can find more information on Yealink’s support website (you can also use these instructions for Zoom).
- Please sign in to the Zoom web portal by using your email address and password.
- Then click the Device Management link in the navigation bar and then the Device List.
- Click on the ellipses (…) in the right-side column to select the phone you wish to convert, click on Remove from Zoom in the left-side column.
Note: The user is not forced to log out of Zoom Phone Appliance when it is taken out of Device Management. - Proceed with the provisioning process.
- The Yealink Zoom App firmware version VP59_9.0_91.85.0.50 can be downloaded here.
- Connect a computer with the same network as your phone to the internet using a web browser.
- Next, enter the phone’s IP address followed by https:// in your web browser.
- You will now need to log in as an administrator to access the phone.
Note: Admin is the default username and admin is the default password. Your phone vendor should be able to tell you your username and password if you do not know them. Zoom web portal allows you to view the admin password if you set it globally. - If you click on Security, then License (you can obtain a license as mentioned above) you will be able to view it. Click on Upload to upload the license file (if necessary).
- Next, choose Settings, then Upgrade to complete the process.
- Select the Yealink firmware file by clicking Browse, next select Upload from the Upgrade section.
You will need to wait for the firmware update to be completed. Make sure not to turn off your phone before the update has completed. If you do, the phone will reboot once the firmware is installed. - The PIN will need to be set as well as the language as soon as the phone reboots.
