Count attendees in Zoom Rooms
On the Zoom Rooms Dashboard, you will be able to see the count of attendees in each Zoom Room.
In order to use this feature, you will have to confirm that you comply with local laws and regulations, and will need to notify and obtain consent if necessary.

Prerequisites for counting attendees
- Plan for business, education, or API
- Version 4.4.1 (825.0623) or higher of Zoom Rooms for macOS
- Version 4.6.0 (1193.1215) or higher of Zoom Rooms for Windows
- Or Zoom Rooms Appliances 5.0.5
- In order to enable Zoom Rooms for Windows or Zoom Rooms Appliances 5.0.5
How to enable the Count In-Room Attendees feature
You can enable this feature for all Zoom Rooms on your account by following these steps. Locations, floors, or individual rooms can also be enabled. For more information, read this article.
- Zoom’s web portal can be accessed here.
- Select Zoom Rooms under Room Management.
- Click on Account Settings.
- Click on Meetings.
- Toggles the option Count the number of people in the room by clicking the toggle switch next to the option.
- Click I Understand if you agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click Enable if a verification dialog box appears.
How to view the In-Room Attendee Count
- Join the Zoom web portal by signing in with your email address and password.
- On the left side of the screen, you will find the Dashboard.
- Click on the Meetings tab.
- Click on the Past Meetings link.
- If you are interested in viewing the list of in-room attendees for a specific meeting, click the ID of that meeting.
- In the meeting details area, the number of attendees will be shown next to the name of the meeting room. There will be a line next to the icon of the attendee if the participant count is not available.
How the attendee count feature temporarily stores information
Zoom Rooms’ computer calculates a temporary participant count when using the attendee count feature. A temporary participant count file is created at the following locations:
Windows: FaceCount: %appdata%/ZoomRooms/logs/FaceCount.log
MacOS: FaceCount/Library/Logs/ZoomRooms
Under the following conditions, these files will be removed:
- As soon as the meeting or counting is complete.
- At the time that the Zoom Room is closed.
- At the time that the Zoom Room is starting up.
- The setting will be disabled if it is enabled.
Zoom Rooms Appliances: Attendee counts are received by Zoom Room Appliances from the underlying hardware when the attendee count feature is used. Participants are not counted based on images generated by Zoom Rooms.
How to do a Real-time People Count
Zoom Rooms require the following hardware to count people in real-time. Zoom Rooms software does not currently support this real-time functionality, which is instead provided by hardware made by these manufacturers.
Note:
Zoom Rooms version 5.5.0 and higher are required to support Real-Time People Counts.
