Custom Contacts in Cisco Jabber for Android in webex
By adding people who are not listed in your corporate directory list or have no IM address to your contact list, you can make your contact list more personal by adding them to the contact list that you manage. The corporate directory can also be used to include contact phone numbers that have already been added to the existing list. Having a public profile will enable you to communicate with a wider audience and collaborate with them more effectively.
There is now an ability to make custom contacts in Jabber for Android that are created in Jabber for desktop clients. You can add contacts who do not have an IM address to the existing directory contact list with Custom Contacts, even if those contacts do not exist in the directory.
By adding custom contacts to your existing directory contacts, you will be able to add phone numbers to them. In addition to calling, chatting, sending emails, and sending texts, you can also send videos. As a custom contact, you can make them the favorite contact for the user.
I have attached the latest User Guide for Cisco Jabber desktop clients so that you can find out more about how to create, modify, or delete custom contacts in Jabber for desktop clients.
With custom contacts, you will not be able to have a WebEx session.
As long as there is no IM address or telephone number associated with the account, the call or chat button will not appear. If a custom contact has an IM address, then their presence will be shown on the list. A custom contact’s presence will not be displayed if the contact only consists of a phone number.
The corporate directory contact displays the merged information of the custom contact if the IM or email address of the custom contact matches the IM or email address of the corporate directory contact. Jabber displays the custom contact name under the display name attribute, while the other contact details are displayed under the merged information attribute.
