Customize your headset with the Bang & Olufsen mobile app in webex

Download the Bang & Olufsen mobile app
You can set up your Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 from the Bang & Olufsen mobile app, and besides that, you can also unlock the full range of audio features and call control features available from Bang & Olufsen and Cisco. There is also a link in the app to the headset support website and documentation to help you with your headset.
Download Bang & Olufsen from the app store of your choice on your mobile device and install it.

Connect your headset to your mobile device by turning it on and pairing it with it.
Using your Bang & Olufsen app, run the installation wizard and follow the instructions provided.
If this is your first time opening the app, you may have to create a new account when you first open it.
Add your headset to the Bang & Olufsen app
Using the Bang & Olufsen app, you can easily set up your headset step-by-step, customize its functionality and experience and get the most out of it.
Before you begin
Please make sure that the Bang & Olufsen app that you are using is updated to the latest version.
Sign in to the Bang & Olufsen app on your mobile device using your Bang & Olufsen account.
When you first open the app, you will be required to create a new user account.
If you want to turn on your headset, you need to press the Power button on the headset.
The + symbol is located in the upper-right corner of your screen. Tap on it to expand it.
The Bang & Olufsen 980 is the model that you should find and select.
The app will prompt you to double-tap one of the ear cups when you are prompted to do so.
When you successfully connect with the device, you will see a solid blue LED on the right ear cup.
In order to complete the setup process, please follow the instructions provided in the interactive guide.
Change Bluetooth sources
Through Bang & Olufsen’s mobile app, you are able to control how Bluetooth® devices are enabled, disabled, and prioritized.
- As a result, you will be able to select the headset that meets your needs and preferences by downloading the Bang & Olufsen app.
- When you are on the product page of the device, you will have the option to choose your Bluetooth device from the list that is presented.
Customize your headset name
In order to make it easier to identify your B&O Cisco 980 when it shows up in a list of Bluetooth® devices, you can customize it.
- In the Bang & Olufsen app, you can choose your headset to use.
- If you click on the Settings icon, you will be able to see the settings for your device.
- Tap on your headset’s name in the Product Settings menu.
- If you want to change the headset name, enter it and click Save.
Personalize your equalizer settings
As part of the Listening Modes feature in the Bang & Olufsen app, a selection of pre-tuned audio settings can be selected based on your listening preferences in order to enhance your listening experience. The audio settings that you create for yourself can also be saved so you can access them later on.

The default listening mode can be selected from the drop-down menu.

Your treble and bass levels can be adjusted manually by tapping on them.
Toggle automatic standby
It is automatically turned off after a period of 15 minutes of inactivity if the Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 is not used. The Bang & Olufsen app has the option of disabling this feature if you want to do so.
- The Bang & Olufsen app will allow you to choose the headset that best suits your needs.
- The Automatic Standby option can be toggled on or off by scrolling down to the bottom of the product screen.
Customize your audio feedback levels
There are three different audio feedback features that come with the Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980. In order to concentrate on your work, calls, music, or simply enjoy silence, noise cancellation allows you to tune out your surroundings and focus on anything but noise. Using the transparent mode of your headset, you can hear what is happening around you without having to take it off. The Transparency mode automatically switches to Own Voice when a call is active. With Own Voice, you can hear how you sound on a call in a clear and natural manner by removing background noise.
With the left slider you will always be able to adjust the levels of noise cancellation and transparency to fit your preferences. Nonetheless, the Bang & Olufsen app also provides you with the ability to fine-tune the feedback levels on your headset.

- The Surroundings slider can be slid left or right by swiping left or right.
You can maximize ANC by sliding it all the way to the left. Transparency or Own Voice can be maximized by sliding the slider to the right all the way.
View your remaining battery level
On the top of the product screen, you can see the remaining battery power of your headset using the Bang & Olufsen app.
- The Bang & Olufsen app will allow you to choose the headset that best suits your needs.
- Please click on the battery icon underneath the headset image on the product page if you would like to see whether you are still at a full charge or whether you have any remaining time on your phone.
Reboot your headset
It may be necessary to reboot your headset in order to troubleshoot issues with it.
- Using the Bang & Olufsen app, select your headset and it will take you to the next screen.
- Located at the top of the screen in the corner to the right of your name, tap Settings.
- You can restart your device by going to Product Settings > Troubleshooting > Reboot.
- Then tap the Reboot button.
If you have not yet rebooted your headset and reconnected your Bluetooth® device to your headset, then it might take up to two minutes.
Factory reset your headset
Bang & Olufsen’s app allows you to reset the Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 to its factory default settings if you want to restore it to its original settings. When you perform a factory reset, your Bluetooth® headset settings will be restored to their default settings and all saved Bluetooth® connections will be deleted.
The USB HD Adapter will need to be re-paired to the headset once you perform a factory reset.

- You can do this by going to Product Settings > Troubleshooting > Factory Reset.
- Then tap on Reset to factory settings.
Update your headset
Updates to your headset’s firmware can improve audio quality or provide new capabilities that will enhance your experience. In order to maintain the best user experience, we recommend installing the latest software version on your headset whenever possible. When new software is available for Bang & Olufsen products, the app will notify you.

There is usually a delay of 5 to 10 minutes before your headset updates itself. The screen will display a time estimate for the duration of your update, as well as the estimated completion date.
