How to Change Your Name on Zoom
It is possible for Zoom users to customize their profiles at any time
In these last two years, Zoom has seen an exponential rise in adoption in the scope of its video conferencing platform, which was launched in 2011. There are a number of tools that can be used for video meetings, whether it’s for personal or work reasons, but Zoom is one of the most popular. A number of unified communication features are also included in this application, including telephony, events, webinars, chat rooms, and messaging.
It is possible for Zoom users to customize their profiles at any time and adjust details such as first names, last names, preferred pronouns, profile pictures, and more, at any point in time. The purpose of this article is to explain to you what steps you need to take in order to change your screen name so that meeting participants can see the information that you want them to see.
Profile Names on the Zoom Platform
There are two types of names that Zoom users need to specify when they create an account – their user name, and their display name. There are two kinds of organizational accounts: one refers to a person’s full name, inclusive of both their first and last name, for example, the name of an IT administrator.
Other meeting participants will be able to see the display name when they host or join a meeting from the account associated with that display name. Depending on your preference, a display name can be anything that you like, from the name of a company, to that of a department, to that of a nickname. If a first-time Zoom user joins a meeting through a copy-pasted link and does not have an account, they are able to assign a temporary name to the meeting that will be associated with their meeting device.
Using the Zoom platform, you are able to change every aspect of your profile that you desire.
How to Change Your Name on Zoom Before a Meeting
Users have the ability to change their onscreen name at any time, regardless of whether a meeting is currently taking place. Here are the steps you need to follow if you want to change your name on Zoom’s mobile app:
- Download the Zoom app for iOS or Android and open it. If you haven’t installed the app yet, you need to download it if you don’t have it already.
- In the event that you are not logged into your account at the moment, please sign in.
- You can access the settings by going to the settings menu. On the home screen of the app, you will find this option in the bottom-right corner.
- You will be prompted to enter your name and e-mail address on the top banner. Your existing profile details will be displayed as soon as you click on this.
- Choose Display Name from the drop-down menu. Below the profile picture and account ID will be a third option that you can choose from.
- The app allows you to customize the display name, first name, and last name of the user or group of users. Tap on safe after you have changed your Zoom name.
As soon as you join a Zoom meeting using any device, you will see the new name appear when you join from any device. It is possible to change one’s name from the Zoom web client if one does not have access to a mobile phone, and if one does not have access to a mobile phone. You can access your region’s web portal at zoom.us/signin, or any equivalent portal, by visiting zoom.us/signin. Located in the profile section, you will be able to edit your name by clicking on the edit button on the right hand side of it. Make sure that the display name has been edited, scroll down, and save the changes.
As with the Zoom desktop application for Mac OS, Linux, or Windows, the process of changing one’s name is very similar when changing one’s name. Detailed instructions on how to complete this task can be found here:
- If you are using a desktop computer, open the Zoom application.
- Access your account by logging in.
- Click on the profile icon located in the top-right corner of the app window and you’ll be taken to your profile page.
- You will be able to select your account information and availability status from a dropdown menu by clicking on this link.
- Using the drop-down menu, select the My Profile option. You will see a pop-up window appear on your screen.
- Click on the save button once you have entered a new name.
I would like to remind you that the change will be universal and will apply whenever you join or host your next meeting on Zoom. The good news is that Zoom also allows you to change the screen name during an ongoing meeting, in case you forgot to update your profile details before the meeting.
How to Change Your Name on Zoom During a Meeting
After we have created the account, it is often the case that the first time we see our name is when we are in a meeting itself, after having created the account initially. In order to make sure that you always present the correct information to the other meeting participants, Zoom makes sure that it is never too late to change your profile details. There is the option to change your Zoom name during a meeting, and the process is essentially the same across all Zoom clients, whether you’re using a mobile device, desktop machine, or a web browser.
- Assume for the moment that we are in the middle of a Zoom meeting. In this case, the meeting might have been pre-scheduled or it might have started after clicking on a link that started the meeting.
- Your meeting window will have an option to add participants at the bottom of it. It will be near the left hand side on your desktop app and web client, and it will be near your right hand side on your mobile app. A couple of individuals will appear as an icon with the words “Participants” written below them.
- You can click or tap on the button that says participants to see the list of participants. If you click on this button, a list of all the attendees, including yourself and others in the meeting, will appear. If you are the host, you can do a number of things from this list, such as raising your hand, going on mute, muting somebody else if you are the host, or changing your name.
- You can simply tap your current name, which will usually appear at the top of the list if you are using the mobile app. The More button is located to the right of your name on the desktop or web client. Click on the More button to get more information.
- Choose the rename option from the drop-down list that appears on the right side of the screen.
- Once you have filled out the profile details for your new account, click OK to return to your meeting.
After reappearing the meeting window, you will be able to see the name you have displayed on screen, right above your video feed, changed.
When it comes to changing your name and other details of your Zoom profile, Zoom makes it extremely easy for you to do so. There are, however, some organizations that for security and compliance purposes do not allow employees to change their screen name without IT approval, due to the fact that this could compromise their security. You may need to contact the organizational administrator if the option appears grayed out and ask them to make the change on your behalf if the option is grayed out.
Aside from the fact that Zoom offers a wide range of valuable perks and tricks that will make your life easier, it is no wonder that it has become one of the top video conferencing applications on the market. One of the most impressive features of this application is the inclusion of meeting rooms, each of which has its own identifying number.
We will be able to help you find out more about Zoom Meeting IDs if you want to learn more about them.
What is a Zoom Meeting ID?
There are 10 to 11 digits that make up a Zoom Meeting ID and each of those digits is associated with a meeting, no matter if it is an instant or scheduled meeting. An ID can be classified into four different types:
-
Instant meeting ID – This is created so that you can meet spontaneously at any time.
-
Non-recurring meeting ID – This is an ID that is created for one-time meetings only.
-
Recurring meeting ID – Used for meetings that take place on a regular basis, such as a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
-
Personal Meeting ID – This is an identifier that is unique to each user of Zoom.
What is a Zoom Personal Meeting ID?
Using a Zoom Personal Meeting ID (PMI), a Zoom user can easily access his or her own personal meeting room by using a unique string of digits assigned by Zoom. You can use your PMI to start instant meetings as well as schedule meetings in the future, which can be done by entering your PMI. As long as your PMI remains the same, you can use it whenever you want.
How to customize your Zoom PMI
Go to https://zoom.us/signin and sign into your account
Tap on Profile.
Click on the Edit button under the “Personal Meeting ID” section.
The screenshot below shows the box in which you have to enter a 10-digit ID number of your choice.
In order to enable the use of your PMI for instant meetings, you have to mark the checkbox labeled “Use Personal Meeting ID for Instant Meetings” to enable the use of your PMI for instant meetings (if it has not already been marked).
When you are finished, click on Save Changes at the bottom of the page
There is no doubt that customizing your PMI is an easy task as long as you meet the following criteria:
- You must have a paid plan license (i.e. Pro-tier subscription or higher).
-
As a rule of thumb, the first digit of your PMI must be a number from 2-9 (i.e. it cannot be 0 or 1).
-
Using a prefix that is typically associated with toll-free numbers as part of your PMI is not allowed. In addition to these numbers, there are also 200, 300, 400, 500, 508, 600, 660, 700, 800, 803, 804, 807, 808, 809, 850, 855, 866, 877, 887, 888, and 900.
-
It is not allowed to repeat groupings of three digits (e.g. 234 234 234x) in your PMI.
-
You are not allowed to include synchronized groupings of 3 digits in your PMI (e.g. 222 333 4444x).
-
There is a limit on how many times you can use the same digit on your PMI (e.g. 222x22222x).
-
In your PMI, you cannot use the same digit more than five times in a row (e.g. 555 55x xxxx).
-
There is no way in which your PMI can include numbers in sequential order (e.g. x123456789).
-
In order to use an existing Meeting ID, you must create one yourself.
What is a Zoom personal link?
Your Zoom personal link is the URL for the meeting room that you have been assigned. If you share your Zoom personal link with invitees, they will be able to easily access your personal meeting room by clicking on the link that you have provided. If you are on a paid plan, like a Pro-tier license or higher, then the URL will usually contain your PMI; however, if you are on a free plan, you can make it your own.
How to customize your Zoom personal link
Go to https://zoom.us/signin and log into your account
You can access your profile by clicking on it
Click on the Customize button in the “Personal Link” section of the page
Click the Save Changes button after entering the name of the link that you wish to use in the box provided.
In order to use a personal link, you have to follow certain rules, just like when using a custom Personal Meeting ID:
-
There must be a minimum of five characters and a maximum of forty characters in the message.
-
There must be a letter at the beginning of the sentence.
-
This field can contain only letters (a-z), numbers (0-9) and periods (. ), as they are the only characters that can be used.
-
Whether you have a Vanity URL for your account or not, it cannot be in use by any other Zoom user, even if you have a Vanity URL for your account.
How and when do Zoom Meeting IDs expire?
There is an expiration date for Zoom meeting IDs so that unused IDs can be used in the future if they aren’t used. In most cases, with the exception of PMIs, Meeting IDs will no longer be functional after a specific amount of time has passed since they have been last used. Examples of these include:
-
Instant meeting IDs – Once the meeting has ended, the meeting IDs will be sent immediately
-
Non-recurring meeting IDs – will be emailed 30 days after the meeting is scheduled
-
Recurring meeting IDs – When a meeting ID has not been used for a year

How and when to use your Zoom Personal Meeting ID
In order to successfully hold meetings over Zoom, it is really helpful to have a PMI on hand. Whenever you need to hold an instant meeting, your PMI provides you with the means to do so. As well as this, it is also an excellent option to use when scheduling meetings with the people who you regularly meet with, so they are able to participate in the meetings more easily.
It is not necessary to have a Zoom account of any type in order to get a PMI. Each and every one of the users who sign up for Zoom gets their own PMI, which is yours to use in any way you like. Here are the steps that you need to follow if you want to always use your PMI for instant meetings:
To log into your account, go to https://zoom.us/signi and enter your username and password
Then click on the Profile tab.
If you are looking for the “Personal Meeting ID” section, click the Edit link that is next to it
To use this ID for instant meetings, click the checkbox next to the “Use This ID for Instant Meetings” option.
To save the changes, click the button that says Save Changes
HOW TO TEST ZOOM MEETINGS
Are you unsure of how you sound? Have you ever wondered what your fellow attendees will see on a call before you jump on? You are not alone if you are feeling this way. There is a tool called Zoom video Connection Detector that has been designed just to help you test audio and your Zoom video connection, which is a common practice.
With Zoom, you can test your connection to the Zoom platform by creating a test meeting that will allow you to see if it works. Here is the link to the website where you can access this tool: https://zoom.us/test.
STEP 1: JOIN TEST MEETING
If you would like to join a Zoom meeting for a test, it is quite simple. After you have loaded the test website, all you need to do is click the blue Join button. A popup may appear once you click Join, asking you to choose which Zoom app you would like to use. It is possible to launch a meeting from the blue button if you do not see a popup.
Click on the link and choose Zoom as the application that you would like to use. The Zoom meeting will be launched once you click on this button.
There are two types of joining available here: Join without video and Join with video. It is advisable to choose Join with video if you plan to attend your meeting via video in order to be able to check your internet connection as well as your webcam. Once you have connected to the test meeting, you will be able to participate in it.
STEP 2: TEST YOUR CONNECTION
There will be a window that will open exactly as if you were joining any other Zoom meeting, but this one is exclusively for you. The view screen allows you to see yourself just as others would in the same situation. The best time to find out if you’re unhappy with your appearance on screen in a meeting is before it starts, so you’ll know what to expect! Interestingly enough, you might not even be at fault here – it might simply be a problem with your lighting. There is no doubt that there is some kind of lighting issue going on here!
If you are using Zoom on your computer, you may see a popup asking you if you see yourself, depending on the version of Zoom you are using and your Zoom account. It is up to you if you want to choose Yes, No, or Try Another Camera.
Look closely at the entire setup you have configured.
- How do you look?
- How is your posture?
- What’s visible in your background?
- Any old lunch wrappers lying on your desk?
- Is the image clear?
- Can you move around without the image blurring or freezing?
The next thing you need to do is test the audio on your device. It will appear that there is a pop up asking, Do you hear a ringtone? The popup will then change to “Do you hear a ringtone?” After choosing Yes, you will be able to hear the ringtone. The option No, Try Another Speaker can be chosen if you do not hear the ringtone.
Can you hear a replay if you speak and pause? There are three options available to you: No, Try Another Microphone, or Yes. It is likely that your device will be working properly if you select Yes! As soon as you have selected End Test, the test window will close and the meeting will come to an end.
Depending on your Zoom version, it is possible that the popup questions will not appear before you begin your meeting if you are using an older version of Zoom (shout out to all of you who hit “Remind me later” every time a new application update appears). Nonetheless, if you are not able to see this, you can test your video by moving around and looking at it while you test your video. Using the microphone in the bottom left corner of your screen, you can check the audio of your meeting. In the drop-down menu, choose Audio Settings…, which opens a number of settings, including a test microphone option, that can be adjusted.
On this page, you will be able to see the Input Level and the Input Volume. As you amplify and amplify your voice, adjust the volume of the input as necessary by adjusting the input level. There are also a number of other audio settings that you can find in these settings
Aside from that, you can also set the video settings, the screen share settings, the background settings, and filters, among others.
STEP 3: LEAVE TEST MEETING
After answering three questions about your video and audio, you’ll see an End Test button on the screen if a pop-up appeared when you first joined the test meeting. When you click End Test, you will be able to close the Zoom window and exit the application.
The only way you will be able to leave the meeting is if you manually checked the settings. In the bottom right corner of the screen, there is a little red button that says “Leave” when you are ready to leave the meeting. In the Zoom window, you will then need to select the Leave Meeting option, and the Zoom window will close as a result.
As soon as the three-minute test Zoom meeting has ended, the meeting will automatically end. Upon running out of your time, you will be able to see that this meeting has been ended by the host. The original test link can be used to open a new test meeting if you need to do further testing.
PRE-MEETING CHECKLIST
In addition to completing a test Zoom meeting, there are some other steps you can take before a Zoom meeting begins that can help you prepare.
-
Here is a sample video that you can use to test your device.
-
You should test the audio on your device.
-
It is important to review the lighting in your room.
-
The clothes you wear should be assessed.
-
Make sure that you wear pants! When there is an unforeseen event, it is impossible to predict when you will need to get up, so make sure you don’t stand there with your pants down.
-
The background of your video should be good. Using a blurry or virtual background can be a good alternative if you don’t have a good IRL option. This may not work on all computers, but it is worth a try!
-
You don’t want dirty cereal bowls, tissues, or anything else on your desk picked up by the camera. They can be moved out of the picture by simply moving them.
-
If you are taking a call, make sure those at work or at home are aware. It’s good to have a closed door!
-
Get your face warmed up by practicing face yoga. Try pinching your face until you look like a raisin, and then open up your eyes and mouth wide in an attempt to create the best impression of this face that you can. To ensure you enunciate on the call, repeat this procedure until you feel your face is relaxed and comfortable.
-
Taking the time to warm up your voice will help you sound better when you speak – no one likes a mumbler! You have to repeat fast the following phrases: Tongue Tip, Teeth, and Lips or Red Leather, Yellow Leather or The Tip on the Tongue, The Teeth, and The Lips. Until your tongue and mouth feel nice and loose, do this for a few minutes.
-
Make sure you review the agenda for your meeting and/or the meeting notes from previous meetings.
How to change your Zoom background on the mobile app
- Get the Zoom iOS app for your iPhone or iPad by clicking on this link (opens in a new tab)
- Sign in to the app, open a meeting, and you will be able to join it.
- To open the More menu, you need to tap the three dots in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- You will need to tap the Virtual Background option.
- Alternatively, you can upload your own image or choose one from Zoom’s defaults.
How to change your Zoom background: Where to find free backgrounds
You can find some of the best Zoom backgrounds you can download from our list of the best free Zoom backgrounds. There are thousands of free images available on the Internet from brands like Nintendo, Disney, Netflix and Marvel as well as sites like Unsplash (which is a library of free stock photography), Canva (a tool for creating designs online) and Modsy (which is an online interior design service).
It is now possible to appear as though you are visiting Wakanda, or talking from a Love Is Blind pod, or sitting on the couch of The Simpsons, when you join a meeting.

- Zoom Document file sharing with Box etc.
As a Zoom user, you have access to so many different features. It would take too long to go into all the details here. It is very interesting to see how each function works. Each one will be explained briefly in the following paragraphs.
Zoom Holding And Attending Meetings
-
You are able to host or participate in online meetings using Zoom, since it is, of course, a web conferencing tool.
-
Using Zoom is very easy, once you have downloaded and installed the Zoom app on your PC, smartphone, or tablet, and created an account with Zoom, you are ready to go.
-
A special meeting room will be opened for you as soon as you press the “Start Meeting” button on the screen.
-
The participants have the option of giving their meeting ID number or creating their own URL for the invitation, just send it out. There’s nothing complicated about it.
Schedule Zoom Meetings In Sync With Your Calendar
There are a number of companies and groups who use Zoom for regular meetings such as morning meetings and monthly reports, for example. There may be times when it may be convenient to make use of the scheduled meeting function by integrating it with a calendar in order to make the most of that function.
- Google calendar
- Office 365 (Exchange)
- iCal format compatible calendar
You can integrate your calendar with your calendar so that when a recurring meeting is scheduled, the attendees will be notified to attend by clicking the Schedule button on the calendar.
Zoom Meeting Password Setting
-
A web seminar can be held over Zoom, not only for meetings within an organization or company, but also for virtual meetings.
-
This will result in a bigger number of participants and it will be more challenging to manage this situation in the future.
-
There is a convenient function when it comes to setting a password during such times.
-
In case you sent a meeting invitation to set up a password, make sure that you enable it in the settings tab after the meeting is over. Using this setting, you will have the option of setting a password that will be required for entry into the seminar room (seminar room / online salon room) along with the participation URL, so that you will feel more secure when holding meetings in-house or paid seminars in which information needs to remain secure.
Zoom Recording
-
It wasn’t until recently that recording and recording with shooting equipment was required for the purpose of storing and sharing the recordings made at meetings and seminars that were rented out in conference rooms and other spaces.
-
However, Zoom, which is a virtual meeting and webinar system that allows you to host meetings and webinars online, includes a recording function (recording function) that you do not need to do anything special to record the meeting.
-
A recording of a video or audio can be easily shared and saved.
Zoom Screen Sharing
Here are some of the most commonly used Zoom meeting features that you may find useful.
-
This screen can be shared and shown to the members who are participating in the meeting who have access to the specified computer.
-
In this way, you can easily share the materials with your audience without having to pre-distribute them in advance or print them out.
-
As a result of this feature, sharing an image is a great deal easier, because it explains at the same time as sharing a screen, which makes it a great help for understanding images.
-
It should also be noted that the materials are presented as a video to the members participating in the meeting, so the material data itself will not be transmitted. When it comes to security, it is perfect.
Zoom Chat
Zoom is mostly known for its video conferencing capabilities, but it also offers a rich chat program.
-
Furthermore, in addition to chatting, you can also select which people you wish to send chat messages to during the meeting.
-
The opportunity to communicate privately with a large number of people behind a video conference is also available.
-
If you want all meeting participants to receive a chat message, you can do so as well.
Zoom Whiteboard
There is a function called a whiteboard which allows you to share your screen with other users.
-
It doesn’t matter whether you’re using Zoom on a desktop computer with a mouse or if you’re using Zoom on a smartphone or tablet, such as an iPhone or iPad. You can write freehand images and numbers just like you would on a blackboard or whiteboard. This feature lets you communicate as if you’re sitting right there in front of the meeting participants.
-
If you are looking for a way to supplement a brief explanation or use it as an electronic whiteboard, then this is a great tool for you.
Zoom Virtual Background Settings
When you are using Zoom meeting, you have the option of setting any image as the background on your computer.
Using a plain green background (chroma key) available on the market is a very effective way to use this feature, but it’s also convenient because Zoom automatically separates the people from the background if you have a simple background at home, etc. (It is advised that you wear clothes other than green or blue).
Zoom Breakout Room
The term breakout room may not be familiar to many people, but in short, this is a feature that allows you to set up small rooms during a meeting and hold individual meetings within them for as many teams as you want. ..
In the end, one can say that it can be useful if you are working in teams during a general meeting, or if you are communicating in several Contacts and Channels at the same time. During a seminar, you will have the option of adding contacts and creating contact groups.
Zoom Remote Control
With Zoom, you are able to control the other party’s screen via a remote control function that allows you to see the screen from a distance.
When teaching those who are unfamiliar with the operation of a PC how to use and where files can be found, it can be very useful.
The screen can be operated by you or by the other party. If you want to let the other party operate the screen, you can do that as well.
Zoom Spotlight Video
Having the option of spotlight video allows you to communicate with three or more people at the same time, including a host when you are holding a meeting.
There is a tendency in Zoom meetings and seminars for the screen of the last speaker to be displayed in a large font size, but if you use this spotlight video function, the screen of any speaker will always be displayed with the same font size. In order to use it, you will need to display it in a large size so that it can be seen clearly.
You can, for instance, display the main person on the screen at all times when you record a meeting or seminar. Or you can display the seminar commentator and lecturer on the screen at all times when you record a seminar.
Zoom Works With Slack
It’s a well-known fact that Slack can be used as a business communication tool by many companies. There is also the possibility of Zoom working with Slack.
Using the Zoom connector, you will be able to seamlessly start a Zoom meeting from the screen of Slack’s business chat application.
Slack also has a collaboration feature that is very convenient for companies that use Slack as a means of communicating with one another.
Zoom Document File Sharing With Box Etc
It is one of Zoom’s functions to share documents and files with other users. When you link storage services such as Zoom and Box together, you can save a lot of time and work.
In Zoom meetings on iPhones and iPads, you can easily share materials and images that have been saved in Box when you are in the meeting.
There are many advantages to using Zoom, such as the fact that you can even share materials with the app.
Zoom- The First Recommended Web Tool-Reasons & Benefits
In order to hold a successful online seminar or salon, you need to have the right webinar tools. In order to host or participate in seminars and salons at a low cost, the webinar tool is a convenient way for people from all over the world to participate at the same time, so it is a good way for seminars and salons to reach wide audiences. Currently, Zoom has become the most popular tool for hosting webinars and is the most widely used.
This article aims to explain why Zoom webinars are so popular, why they are so effective and what the benefits are of using a webinar tool.
What Is The Zoom Webinar? Explain The Advantages Of Introducing Tools
Webinars are a combination of webinars and web seminars, which is why they are called Webinars. As a result, you can also call it a web seminar or online seminar since it can be held on the web.
It is believed that online seminars for business use will spread widely as one of the marketing methods in the future as a way of distributing information in a personalized manner, just as personalized video distribution is becoming popular.
Live Distribution (On-Demand Distribution) And Recording Distribution
It is possible to host a live or recorded webinar using webinar tools.
The date and time of live distribution will be decided before the distribution starts, and in the waiting room, the screen will change to this screen once the distribution has begun. If you are hosting a seminar or salon, please wait until the host (organizer) and the participants are at the designated location at the same time in order to hold the seminar or salon.
Alternatively, recording delivery is an option that enables you to deliver recordings at a specific time, place, and date based on what has already been recorded.
It is impossible to say which is better, since there are both advantages and disadvantages to both. However, with a live distribution, you can interact with participants at a closer distance by taking two-way communication and recording the distribution, so you are able to ensure that all the participants receive accurate information.
A webinar tool that has the ability to perform both live distribution as well as recording distribution could easily perform the best parts of both, such as distributing a recorded video in the first half of the webinar and then performing opinion exchanges and Q & A with live distribution in the latter half.
Benefits Of Introducing A Zoom Webinar Tool
Having said that, what are the benefits of implementing a webinar tool?
First of all, I will give you 6 points.
- There is no time or place restriction on participating in the event
- A large-scale operation that attracts customers regardless of where they live
- There are no expenses associated with travel and venue fees, etc.
- If you share materials and screens, you can proceed more easily.
- A webinar tool makes it easy to participate in a webinar
- The delivery of content for review and re-use can also be arranged
- You will find it easy to purchase the products and services that you need
Let’s take a closer look at each.
Benefits 1. You Can Participate At Any Time And Place
Through the use of the webinar tool, you have the possibility of attending seminars and salons from anywhere in the world. Among all the features of a webinar tool, this is the most important.
There was a time when participants had to travel to the local seminar center in order to attend the seminars in the past, since they had to sit in the conference rooms and the lecture hall at the local seminar center.
The easiest way of participating in a salon or webinar is to take advantage of an online salon or webinar that is facilitated by a webinar tool that can be accessed from anywhere online in Japan or from anywhere in the world that is connected to the internet.
Benefits 2. Large-Scale Attracting Customers Regardless Of The Area
Conventionally, when using a conference center or a location in a park venue for a meeting or event, it was necessary to attract customers taking into account the number of people entering the venue (the capacity).
For example, if a venue has 300 people and 600 people come to it, the total number of people will not be able to fit in the venue even if it has 600 participants.
When inviting participants to the event in Hokkaido, it was also necessary to manage the attributes of the recipients in order to make sure that invitations were not sent to participants in Okinawa, as that would be pointless for them to attend the event in Hokkaido.
The use of tools such as webinars, however, can enable online salons and webinar organizers to attract customers without having to worry about such minor aspects.
Benefits 3.No Need To Move, Venue, Etc.
As part of introducing the webinar tool, this is also a big point to emphasize. There is a great deal of potential to save when compared to traditional methods of planning meetings, including venue fees, administration fees, staffing costs, and invitations.
Benefits 4. You Can Proceed Easily By Sharing Materials And Screens.
With some webinar tools, you are not only able to display and share your materials on the screen, but you are also able to share your screen with all of the participants so they can see the screen that you are operating.
As a result, it becomes much easier to share materials with participants, as well as presentation screens that needed to be screen-projected in the venue type, to ensure that seminars and salons can run smoothly.
Benefits 5. Feel Free To Join With Any Webinar Tool
The organizer, panelists, lecturers, etc. of a venue-type seminar or salon cannot be confirmed and we cannot be certain of their affiliations without visiting the venue, for example when attending for the first time.
As a result, we can expect that psychological hurdles will be very low as Web seminars and online salons that are using webinar tools will be very easy to participate in.
The seminar itself is also flexible, so you are able to participate or leave at your own convenience, so it is more convenient compared to the type of seminar that is held at a venue.
As a result, we can easily recommend web seminar sessions and online salons to our family and friends.
Benefits 6. Review Delivery And Reuse Of Contents Are Also Possible
Using webinar tools to hold a web seminar or an online salon that makes use of webinar tools is a very easy and convenient way of recording the information, and then you can distribute the recorded data to other people who were not able to attend the seminar or salon and review and distribute it to those who could.
There is also the possibility to analyze the reaction of the user and re-edit it, or add information such as images and distribute it as part of a recording distribution, after the live event has been distributed (on-demand distribution)
Benefits 7. Easy To Guide The Purchase Of Goods And Services
Last but not least, this is a suggestion that can be made as a webinar or an online salon that is using webinar tools to conduct the event.
There are many benefits associated with online seminars and online salons, including the ease with which participants and users can purchase products and services.
It is also possible to smoothly guide users and participants into Paypal and credit settlement by offering them purchase points and payment methods for products and services.
Zoom App Price Plans
Free Zoom Plan And 3 Paid Plans
Currently, Zoom offers a free Basic (freemium) plan as well as a paid version. As a free plan, it has all the features that a business needs in an easy-to-use business tool, such as a CRM. As a result of the paid plan, we will have a higher number of simultaneous connections, and the functions will be more abundant.
The paid plan offers three different pricing categories, and the license fees are calculated according to the number of people who are using the software, so starting from a small scale, it will be easy to introduce the system. It is also worth mentioning that even though the plan is a paid one, the price is very reasonable!
Here is a closer look at the features of the three paid plans as well as the Zoom free plan to give you a better idea of how it compares.
(1) Basic (Free) Plan
-
In Zoom’s Basic plan, you are able to use the service for free.
-
It should be noted that even though it is free, it is fully equipped with all basic features, and it is a useful web conferencing system for those who wish to keep their costs as low as possible.
-
If you want to meet one-on-one with a client, then the Basic plan would be ideal for you.
-
In the event that there are three or more participants, the meeting will last up to 40 minutes, but up to 100 people can attend.
-
There can be a maximum of 10,000 participants at a Zoom Webinar, which can be broadcasted live on Facebook, YouTube, and many other social media sites, but it cannot be used with the Zoom Basic Plan.
-
A local recording is the only option available for recording in the Basic plan.
-
In terms of recording, local recording refers to the method of storing data in the recording area of a computer, and one of its limitations is that it is only able to be recorded on a computer.
-
Check out this article to find out more about Zoom’s free plan and if it’s right for you.
(2) Pro Plan
-
There is no better solution for small teams than Zoom’s Pro plan.
-
There is a fixed number of contract users for each paid plan, while the Pro plan offers one to nine users on a monthly contract.
-
Additionally, the Pro plan also offers the possibility of having more than 100 people attending the conference, and the maximum number of participants per host can be increased from 100 to 500 to 1,000 depending on the plan you choose.
-
There is also the option to record in the cloud with Zoom’s Pro plan and higher in addition to recording on a local device.
-
As soon as you record a meeting in the Zoom Cloud, you will be able to see the video, audio, and chat text of the meeting as long as you choose the Record to Cloud option.
-
It is possible to download recorded files to your computer as well as share links that link to recorded files via “My Recordings”.
-
A Zoom Pro plan is limited to 1GB of cloud capacity per user, and if you have a one-hour meeting with a video in the gallery view, then this limit will be easily exceeded, even if you have a Zoom Pro plan.
-
Whenever you have to increase the cloud capacity of your account for a specific reason, you can do so by selecting “Payment” from “My Account” and clicking “Add additional cloud recording storage”.
(3) Business Plan
-
Small businesses can take Zoom’s Business Plan course to learn how to prepare a business plan.
-
There is a monthly fee for the Business plan that increases with the number of participants, with a contract that requires a minimum of ten hosts.
-
Business plans come with an additional set of features over and above what the Pro plans have to offer.
-
You will have the ability to use management functions for troubleshooting if you subscribe to the Business plan, for example. As a result, you will be able to use one sign-on for all your accounts.
-
The information it contains will assist you in troubleshooting a specific problem or error message, or a function that is not working as it should, so that it can be used as a business tool with confidence.
(4) Enterprise Plan
-
It is required that you have 50 hosts in order to participate in Zoom’s Enterprise plan.
-
As the highest level of Zoom’s product line, the Enterprise plans are suitable for companies with a high volume of employees.
-
Additionally, you can use more functions compared to the Pro plan and Business plan in addition to the features of those plans.
-
One of the most noteworthy features of the cloud is its unlimited capacity.
-
There are many benefits to having unlimited capacity, but the biggest benefit that I believe is that it facilitates the ability to store and back up large files and data in large amounts, which can prove very useful when dealing with large amounts of data and files.
How To Pay The Zoom Fee
As there are three categories of prices for Zoom, I will explain how the fee is paid in the next section. It is very easy to turn your Zoom free account into a Zoom paid account by simply following the steps listed below.
-
Sign in to Zoom by going to the home page and clicking the sign in button
-
Located at the top right corner of the screen, click “My Account”
-
From the My Profile screen, click on the “Upgrade Account” button
-
If you wish to change the plan you are currently subscribed to, click the “Upgrade” tab
-
Click the Continue button after scrolling down the page
-
The credit card information must be entered and the payment must be made
After you have completed the payment for your Zoom account, you can start using Zoom.
Four Criteria For Changing From The Zoom Free Version To A Paid Plan
Even the free version of Zoom is an excellent tool for making general phone calls since it is very useful. There are, however, more convenient functions in a paid account that can be used in business situations if you upgrade to a paid account.
We highly recommend switching to a paid account if you or your business has the following four requests in the business.
-
In addition to the operational aspect, it would be useful to consider troubleshooting options and how to manage user usage history
-
An authentication function must be linked to the single sign-on product (single sign-on product)
-
It would be great to have a long-term relationship with three or more people including my clients
-
With cloud recording, I would like to record a video call, such as a meeting, in the cloud.
In order to utilize these features, you will need to be a subscriber to Zoom’s paid plans. You will be able to take advantage of Zoom even more when you upgrade to a paid account.
Four Reasons Zoom Gets High Marks
Over 750,000 people around the world use Zoom as a part of their everyday lives regardless of the size of their business.
There is no exception in Japan where major domestic companies have introduced the technology into their country, e.g., Japan Airlines (JAL), JVC Kenwood, Aisin AW, and Tokyo Midtown Management, as well as local governments in the country, e.g., Machida City in Tokyo and Saijo City in Ehime Prefecture. That’s what I’m going to do.
Furthermore, many companies have reported that management efficiency has improved after the introduction of the system, which has resulted in a change in work styles after the introduction.
It is due to the high quality of Zoom that so many companies are so popular with it.
Zoom is very popular for a number of reasons. Below are four of them.
- Simple and easy to use
- Excellent security
- Stable communication is possible
- No maintenance cost or cheap
As a matter of fact, I believe this to be the case for four reasons.
Simple And Easy To Use
-
A simple and easy-to-use feature of Zoom is one of the reasons why it gets high marks from users.
-
Participants will be able to join the web conference simply by clicking on the URL or meeting ID included in the invitation email which will lead them to the URL or meeting ID.
-
It has received high praise for the convenience of being able to participate without having to sign up for a membership, which can be a painful process.
-
Additionally, another feature that can be performed by the touch of a button to perform the recording function is the ability to record.
-
In addition to this, if you become a paid member, you will also be able to check the saved data on your browser and share videos with URLs if you become a paid member.
Excellent Security
-
Secondly, Zoom’s excellent security is another factor that contributes to its high ratings.
-
The Zoom service is a cloud service, so it is managed solely by a dedicated server, since Zoom is a cloud service.
-
Furthermore, it has functions such as the ability to restrict participation domains and to manage logs, which enables it to qualify as a highly confidential tool since it allows users to control their participation.
-
In company confidential matters and confidential meetings, it is necessary to consider security in light of the possibility of information leakage. Zoom does not have to worry about security vulnerabilities in that regard.
Stable Communication Is Possible
-
Zoom is also highly regarded because of the fact that it enables the possibility of stable communication between users.
-
A majority of web conferencing systems are easily impacted by network issues and communication may become unstable as a result depending on the situation.
-
Even on narrow-band mobile lines, Zoom’s unique technology ensures that communication does not suffer.
-
Due to this fact, even if several people are talking at the same time, there is almost no stress involved.
-
You will be able to continue your conversation as smoothly as if you were in the same room having a conversation, just as if you were in a regular meeting.
Maintenance Costs Are Unnecessary Or Cheap
-
In addition, Zoom was also rated highly for its low maintenance costs, which were deemed unnecessary by some customers.
-
In fact, even the Enterprise plan, which is the highest paid plan, can be used for less than 2,500 yen per month for each host, making it extremely cost-effective.
-
If the price of the tool is too high, the cost of sales and management will jump, and it will not be a viable tool regardless of how highly functional it is, or how good a reputation it has.
-
Therefore, Zoom can be considered to be the best tool of COSPA in that it is more functional than it is expensive in that respect.
-
If you are wondering whether Zoom is suitable for your company, you can get a Zoom account for free, you can use the basic plan for free, so you can first test out the basic features of Zoom using the free version, and then if necessary, upgrade to the paid version. Why not consider a migration?
-
During the course of this article, I will be introducing the details of Zoom’s price and pricing plan in more detail.
-
A web conferencing system like Zoom offers free and low-priced plans, and each of these plans can be used to build good relationships with customers and increase sales for both parties.
-
Furthermore, both the audio and video quality is high, and there is a perfect level of security. Currently, it is regarded as one of the most important tools in the business world.
-
It is important to grasp what is lacking in your organization before you implement a Zoom paid plan as this will allow you to improve operational efficiency in the most effective way possible.
Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Zoom App.
Advantages Of Zoom
The Zoom application is a unique application as it is the only one that is designed to be used by latecomers for online conferences. While discussing the merits, we will also share our impressions of using it once we have used it for a while.
In order to gain a better understanding of zoom, I thoroughly investigated its advantages and disadvantages. There are many benefits to using a Zoom for remote consultations (online).
Advantage – Easy Connection For Anyone
- An easy connection is very important.
- Online consulting saves time and effort for each other than visiting the office, but many people find it difficult because they are new to online tools and apps.
- Therefore, we must lower that psychological hurdle as much as possible.
- With Skype, you can call each other by exchanging IDs, so you can use it as if you were calling.
- However, you have to install the app or software and obtain an ID in advance.
- After all, it seems that they are shunned when it is more difficult than telephone calls.
Advantage – Stable Operation
-
It is obvious that I am going to concentrate on the contents of the consultation during the consultation, however, if the line gets cut off or it is very difficult to hear during the consultation, it will be difficult for them to concentrate on each other.
-
In addition, I believe that this is also due to the performance of the app, but I also believe that this is strongly influenced by the speed and quality of each other’s internet connection.
-
Obviously, it is natural to prepare an optical line level at this point, but it is difficult to maintain because there is often a weak internet line on the customer’s side.
Advantage – High Quality And Functionality
-
There are several things that would be good to have, such as the sound and images being clear, and the program working smoothly.
-
In addition, I would also like a function that goes beyond what a phone can do since the service is just online.
-
In today’s society, we are accustomed to being able to show our faces in videos, but I believe it’s very important to explain while sharing the screen of our lesson material with our students.
-
It is important to know how much choice there is and how high quality it is regardless of whether there is a function around it or not.
-
In my experience, I think if these things are met, it will be okay, based on what I have experienced so far.
-
My aim, therefore, was to see if introducing a certain amount of “zoom” to an acquaintance would meet these conditions and if it would not.
Advantage – Zoom Can Be Easily Connected By Anyone With A Browser
-
There is a mechanism to connect Zoom by creating a “meeting room” and making it available for all the participants to join.
-
According to the official Zoom website, the figure was quoted as follows:
-
Using the desktop OS as shown in this figure, the device can be accessed from a PC, phone, or tablet, and the desktop operating system can also be selected.
-
The fact that Zoom participates in the event is also one of the most interesting aspects, but this is a very simple point.
-
As an example, if the meeting organizer were to send an invitation to the meeting via email, it would look something like this:
-
In any case, you are welcome to make any changes to the text of the email as you wish.
-
The link is located in the red frame on the left, so anyone who wishes to join the internet is able to do so by clicking on the link there.
-
There will be a guide like this displayed if the app is not installed for the first time.
-
Afterwards, you can easily connect to the application by installing it and entering the ID, or by clicking the link contained in the email again.
-
As soon as a meeting is held, the ID will be changed every time. It is therefore better to have a conference ID instead of having a person with an ID, as each conference has an ID and it is almost like connecting to it.
-
I managed to make this app a little more sophisticated than the one that comes with Mikogo, but other than that, it seems that it has a lot more features, and it can even be connected from the phone or tablet.
-
Each account on Skype is assigned a unique ID, which allows each user to communicate with one another one-on-one over the Internet.
-
Due to this, it will take some time for us to connect, because some of the steps will require us to obtain an account or share our contacts with one another before we can connect.
-
In this regard, Zoom is an online conferencing system that assumes a large number of participants and is designed so that the participants will be able to join the conference easily without needing to obtain an identification number in advance.
-
There is no problem with it at all.
-
There is of course the possibility of using it one-on-one as well.
Advantage – Zoom Works Fairly Stable
-
There is no visible drop in the application after I tried connecting to my smartphone, and I have no concerns about it being stable under the current circumstances, but I have tried various things such as connecting to my smartphone, but there is no noticeable drop.
-
Moreover, you can connect from your smartphone or tablet with an LTE connection, which will make it easier for you to connect from anywhere in the world.
-
I have a problem with my wifi at home, but I am still able to connect, however, once it became unstable, the message “connection is unstable” appeared on the screen.
-
This is not because of the zoom that the net is unstable, but as you can see, it is supposed to be stable up until that point and it does not seem to be so.
Advantage – Zoom’s Schedule Management Is Convenient
My experience was that I had a smartphone and a PC connected to the internet, and that I was using Wifi and LTE as the network environment.
-
There is a decent amount of quality in the video. Depending on the line speed, it may be possible for this area to switch automatically.
-
There is a certain characteristic function of the zoom, and you can easily set up a schedule for its use.
-
You can set up a scheduled meeting by selecting the Schedule option from the host’s menu.
-
The password should be set if necessary and the schedule button should be pressed…
-
I’m going to show you how the Google calendar input is completed automatically as part of the process!
-
I find this to be incredibly convenient.
-
I believe that one of the most efficient ways to hold meetings is to share the calendar itself, if you have regular meetings with fixed members.
-
It would be great if I was able to customize the text in my own way since the language of the message is English.
-
The sharing functions of the application are not dependent on the device in use
-
It is also a useful feature of Zoom to be able to share files in a versatile as well as “secure” manner.
-
It is also possible to share screen on Skype, but for some reason, depending on the device, this may not be possible.
-
In fact, Skype’s major complaint was that it could not be used on any device, even if it was technically possible.
-
Since there is no need to share the essence in any way, I would like to conclude the discussion by saying that the issue of whether customers can share the essence is unrelated to this one.
-
This is a problem that Zoom solves by allowing you to share your screen on any device you’re using as long as you have Zoom installed.
-
The ability to share screens, as well as whiteboards and photos, makes it easy to hold meetings as you will be able to share screen, whiteboard, and photos at the same time.
-
This is a good example of how you can share various windows, whiteboards, and other items from the desktop.
-
Using a smartphone as a device
-
The screen can be used to display various resources that you want to share.
-
I don’t see anything wrong with “features” that are shared between users.
-
Considering that Skype sharing was not as good as it could have been, this was quite inspiring.
-
As far as sharing is concerned, there is a problem with it…
-
The topic of this will be discussed later on.
Advantage – Can Remotely Support The Other Party’s Screen On Zoom
-
In most cases, I do not use this feature, but it is a very useful one if I have an emergency situation that requires immediate attention.
-
There may be circumstances in which customers are confused by the operation of the application when I am doing a consultation online, for example.
-
The fact that I am capable of communicating with the voice means that I am able to provide advice on various operations using the voice, but sometimes it may not be possible.
-
It is in such a situation that you can control the other party’s desktop remotely from here that you can resolve the issue quickly and in a satisfactory manner.
-
Open the Settings menu and, under the General tab, click on the Enable Extensions check box to enable remote support.
-
The settings page will open on a web browser. You need to click on “Edit” to the right of In Meeting (Advanced), turn on “Remote support”, and then save your settings.
-
It is now time to complete the settings. If Zoom has not been restarted, please do so.
-
Among the Zoom menu options, there is a remote support function on the right side of the screen.
-
There will be no problem with that, of course, as long as we receive the permission from the other party beforehand, but I would also appreciate it if there was a function that could be turned on for customers so that they don’t have to worry about anything not related to the consultation itself.
-
In the past, remote support was only possible by using some software such as TeamViewer, but I think that with the advent of Zoom, it is now much easier to use this feature.
-
There is no feature like this in Skype, and it may open up new service possibilities based on the application, but depending on which one, it may open up new features.
-
It may be possible to teach customers who have no knowledge of how to use online securities how to use them in the future.
-
The truth is that you cannot do things like order, but I think if you stay away from those things, you will be happier.
Advantage – Easy Recording
-
The main speaker for each webinar (web-based online seminar) we want to record as the main speaker for the session does not have to be recorded or recorded by remote consultation, but there must be a high demand for it, such as a webinar (web-based online seminar).
-
Therefore, as part of the standard feature of the zoom, a recording function is built into the camera.
-
In my attempt to use it, I just pushed the button and it worked. There is no difficulty in using it as it is very easy to use.
-
The compression of media files seems to be going to begin after the meeting has ended.
-
There is no way I can say that because I haven’t done a long-term endurance test, but at the least I have a special app like Skype and have set it up, so it’s not a huge hassle at all. This is something that does not exist anywhere else.
-
As a matter of fact, I have never conducted a webinar, but I think that it is an excellent feature to have.
Disadvantages Of Zoom
It is true that Zoom offers a lot of advantages, but it also has a lot of disadvantages at the moment, and there are many things you can do with Skype that you cannot do with Zoom.
Disadvantages – The Disadvantage Of The Zoom? The Large Delay Occurs When Sharing
-
There was sometimes a big “delay” when sharing in my environment, and this may be the case only in my environment.
-
As an example, I often share PDF screens with clients and explain while turning pages during the demonstration, but when I try to do the same thing with zoom, the timing between my voice and page turn gradually shifts. In the sweat
-
The delay is acceptable if it is 1 second or 2 seconds, but if it is delayed by 5 seconds or 10 seconds, then there is a problem since the audio arrives almost in real-time, but the PDF page-turning is delayed by 5 seconds or 10 seconds, so the delay is justified. There is no practical way to do it.
-
I just wanted to let you know that I have been disappointed with this system, or I would like to suggest that it be improved soon here. In the latest version of the program, I hope this problem has been solved (I hope it has been fixed).
-
When using Skype, certain things are not able to be shared, but once they are shared, there isn’t much delay once they are shared.
Disadvantages – I Can’t Send A Message In Advance
-
The Skype service provides the ability to exchange your Skype IDs in advance, so that you can connect from the same account.
-
It has been designed so that you can connect directly via a URL without having to exchange IDs in order to use Zoom.
-
While this is a great merit, there are also some demerits to this as well,
-
There is a message that says “Can’t send a message before a session”
-
There is a problem with the specification (is there one?)
-
Please check if it is Skype before you start the session if it is
-
In response to your letter today, I would like to thank you.
-
My message was like this, and I was able to casually remind her, however Zoom does not have the ability to do this, so there is no choice but to wait until the connection comes up so we can make contact.
-
I think that it would be fine if we could give the customer this telephone number and if they do not receive it, we can respond by phone by doing so. It’s a little inconvenient, but I think that it would be a great idea.
Disadvantages – If You Do Not Have The Same Version Of The App, Some Functions May Not Be Available
-
I can’t quite confirm this, but the other day, when I was using the sharing feature of the whiteboard, there were times when I was the only one who was unable to contribute to the discussion.
-
There is also a description stating that in order to be able to search on the internet, you must have the most up to date version of the program.
-
Initially, I was planning on using the latest version, but the development is still going on, and I’ve noticed that the software seems to be updated quite frequently.
-
Our recommendation is for you to keep the app up-to-date on a monthly basis, as that is enough to ensure that our customers don’t suffer any inconvenience in the future.
-
Don’t forget to ask your repeat customers to update the app as soon as the new version is released.
Disadvantages – Business Use Of Zoom Is A Paid Plan
-
There seems to be a limitation in Zoom’s free plan in terms of how long each meeting room can be used. I’m not sure if this is a disadvantage. If there are just two people present, there is no time limit, but there is a limit of two hours.
-
There would be nothing wrong with creating a new conference room and connecting it, but what if this person didn’t do this before the customer asked for it? As a consultant, it is impossible for me to concentrate on anything else at all.
-
In other words, if you are using it for business purposes, make sure you sign up for a paid plan as soon as possible.
-
It is true that Skype is free, and there are no restrictions on the time that can be spent on a connection, but for the reasons mentioned above, I think Zoom offers more advantages.
-
Are you sure you don’t want to worry about whether or not you can share your screen?
-
In the end, it is not a big deal to pay, so you don’t have to worry about it.
Summary Of Advantages And Disadvantages Of Zoom
-
Using a Zoom for web conferencing and webinars can be a very convenient experience.
-
There seem to have been a rapid spread of this software in the United States over the past few years due to its ease of use.
-
Besides using Zoom, I’ve also started using Skype, and there are some disadvantages, but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and this allows me to focus on my consulting business.
-
Could you please let me know if you would like to start a remote consultation with Zoom?
-
Lastly, I would like to add one more
-
Using Zoom for remote customer service is also a story without one customer in it, which is a matter of course, so I’m sure you already understood.
-
As an alternative, if you can attract customers online, you will not only be able to apply for remote applications, but also be able to reduce travel time and costs by using Zoom, which will make remote customers happy.
When a person is quarantined, Zoom can be used to conduct online interviews for the purpose of finding a new job.
The Zoom app can be used to turn the video or microphone off by the participant or attendee
zoom login
How to login/Sign in Zoom App
There are two ways by which you can log in to Zoom – either using the Zoom app (assuming you have downloaded the app) or through the Zoom website. It does not matter which method you choose, as both methods work well.
Using the Zoom app to log in to this website is described on this page.
- Using your device’s operating system (Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, et cetera), open the Zoom app (or program).
- You can sign in with SSO if you see a screen similar to this one. The Sign In with SSO screen will appear. Enter your credentials, then click on Continue.
In some cases, you may not see these screens and instead go directly to the CUWebLogin page (step 3 below). I’m fine with that. - When you click this link, you will be taken to the familiar CUWebLogin screen where you will need to enter your NetID and associated password. As soon as you use two-step login, you will also be presented with that authentication screen if you have chosen that option. As long as you have two-factor authentication enabled for your CUWebLogin account, you will also need to execute your Two-Step Login after entering your credentials, if you have enabled this feature. The use of two-factor authentication is mandatory in some units.
zoom join meeting
How to join Zoom Meeting
In order to join a Zoom meeting, there are four ways in which you can do so:
- Using the Zoom Application
- Using the Zoom website
- Using Email link
- Or via telephone dial-in
Using the Zoom Application :
- The Zoom app can be opened by clicking on the Start button, selecting the Zoom folder, and then clicking the Zoom icon
- Sign in by clicking on the Sign in button
- Choose “Sign in with SSO” from the right side menu.
- If prompted, enter your UniSQ username and password to access your account
- You can join by clicking the Join button
- The Meeting ID (this can be found in the email invitation) should be entered here.
- Afterwards you will be able to choose whether you would like your audio or video to be enabled or disabled for the meeting
It is necessary for the host of the meeting to first set up the meeting in Zoom in order for you to be able to join. Participants can join the session once the host has initiated the session and the host has started it. Alternatively, the host can enable an option that allows the users to join before the host arrives, however, the meeting still has to be scheduled in advance even if the users can join before the host arrives.
In case you already have Zoom installed on your device, you can join meetings directly from the Zoom app by using the meeting ID or the personal link name that you received from the host when you joined the meeting.
You will be asked to sign in when you open Zoom, and once you do so, the meeting will begin. When you click “Sign In”, you will be asked to enter your email address, then to select “Sign In,” or you can select “Sign in with SSO, Google, or Facebook.” If you select either of these options, you will be taken to the sign-in pages for each service. SSO can be used either as a sign in method, i.e. if you choose this method, ensure that you have the company URL available, which is usually <companyname>.zoom.us.
Once the sign-in process is complete, no matter which sign-in method you decide to use, you will be on the Zoom home page once the process is complete. On this page, you will be able to select “Join.”
There will be a new window that appears. As soon as you receive the invitation via email, you will receive a meeting ID, which you should type in the first box. The name of the personal link can also be entered if you happen to know it if you happen to know it.
On the next screen, please enter your display name, choose whether or not you want audio and video to be enabled during the meeting, and then click the “Join” button.
You will now be able to participate in the meeting.
Using the Zoom Website
You will need to have a company URL registered with Zoom if you are joining an online meeting with another company. There can be a custom domain name for the company named by the owner, but be sure to check with the host if you are uncertain.
After you have obtained the URL of the company, go to it in your browser of choice and click on it. There will be some differences between the look and feel of the landing page between companies, but the options available will, for the most part, be the same.
By selecting the “Join” button, you will be able to join the group.
You are now required to enter the meeting ID or personal link name that you should have received from the host of the meeting in order to join the meeting. After you have done that, select the “Join” button.
Having joined the meeting, you will now be able to participate in it.
Using Email link:
- As soon as the meeting host sends you an invitation via email, you’ll receive it
- Please click on the link in the email for more information (you can join using a PC, Mac, iOS or Android device).
- The meeting will be held at the venue that you have selected
Telephone dial in:
- The meeting host will send you an email with more information about the meeting
- The dial-in number will be displayed on the screen

Educators can also share access to Zoom Whiteboard presentations and exercises they create before or after class with their students, and they can control whether the students are allowed to edit a whiteboard or only be allowed to view it. This tool allows meeting hosts to create unlimited whiteboards, so there is no fear of running out of space during meetings.

How to use zoom App
As a consequence of the Coronavirus pandemic, virtual meetings are becoming increasingly necessary. In spite of the fact that people were preferring to meet their clients offline only a couple of months ago, a large number of professionals have now chosen to stay connected online despite the lockdowns imposed around the world to keep in touch. As a result of the increasing prevalence of video conferencing apps, a large number of schools and educational institutions have started to use them to share videos with their students virtually. Video conferencing, as well as other forms of video communication, has become a popular solution over the past few years. There is a reason for its popularity that can be attributed to the fact that it runs on a variety of platforms. It is also important to note that Zoom offers features such as the ability to send your screen to as many as 100 participants simultaneously and participate in a meeting through a Web browser. There is no doubt that all these things make it a compelling option over the likes of Google Hangouts Meet and Microsoft Teams, among others.
In addition to mobile devices, Zoom is also available on desktop computers. The participants in Zoom meetings are also able to connect directly with the Zoom meeting hosts from their Web browsers. A Zoom meeting can have a total of 100 participants, and with the Large Meeting add-on, that number can be extended to up to 500 members in a single meeting. Zoom can also handle up to 100 participants in a single meeting. A few privacy concerns have been raised with respect to Zoom in the recent past, which have undoubtedly had a negative impact on its global growth and success. There is, however, a claim that the development team has started paying all its attention to enhancing privacy as a result of their efforts. Ultimately, this could lead to Zoom becoming a more robust solution for virtual meetings in the future.
