Software and Firmware Upgrades
How do I find the D7 firmware version I am running?
DTEN D7 version can be checked in two ways:
Option 1: Displayed on the DTEN D7
The menu button is located behind the display (second from the bottom):
In the bottom-right corner of the General Settings window, the D7 will display the firmware version:
Option 2: Zoom’s web portal
DTEN D7 v1.3.2 or higher; Zoom Rooms v4.4.1 or higher.
- Access the Zoom web portal by logging in.
- Click on Zoom Rooms under Room Management.
- Find and click on the DTEN room.
DTEN D7 firmware version information can be found in the Firmware Version column.
How do I check the Zoom Rooms software version?
DTEN D7 version can be checked in two ways:
Option 1: Displayed on the DTEN D7
- If you hold down the screen, a menu will appear
- On the screen. Let go to reveal a pop-up menu.
- Select About. Zoom Rooms’ current version will be displayed in a pop-up.
Option 2: Using the Zoom web portal
- Zoom’s web portal requires a sign-in.
- Click on Zoom Rooms, then select Room Management.
- Select the room that has a DTEN D7.
Find the current Zoom Rooms firmware version in the Firmware Version column.
How do I receive firmware updates?
Version 1.3.0 or higher
During the night of July 26th, 2019, at 11 pm PST, all D7 devices running version 1.3.0 or higher were automatically updated to version 1.3.2. Future updates will be available in the Zoom web portal where you can update your D7.
Note: To receive the mandatory update to v1.3.2, you must allow zoom.us access to your closed network.
Version 1.2.3 or lower
Zoom is not the only feature of the D7 if Version 1.2.3 or lower is installed. It will be impossible for you to:
- Over-the-air update to version 1.3.2 or 1.3.0.
- Using the Zoom web portal, update the firmware.
- Take advantage of the new Zoom Rooms features.

How do I upgrade the D7’s firmware from v1.3.2 to v1.3.4?
The Zoom web portal lets you upgrade the D7. A 30-minute upgrade may take place. It will restart automatically once the update is complete.
Prerequisites:
- V1.3.2 or higher of the firmware for the D7
- With Zoom Rooms v4.4.1 or later
- As well as an open network or a network that Zoom is allowed to connect to
- Join the Zoom web portal by logging into your account.
- After logging into your account, you will be able to find the Zoom Room Management page.
- You will need to click on the room where the DTEN D7 is connected.
- You will find a button for “Upgrade” under the current firmware version of the D7 on the Devices tab.
You will then be presented with a modal dialog box.
- If you wish to manage the upgrade schedule, you can choose one of the following options:
- At night (around 1:00AM): Upgrades will begin around 1:00 AM local time.
- Non-meeting time: When the room is not in use. Within 30 minutes, the upgrade will commence.
What does the Upgrade button in the Zoom Rooms web portal do?
There is an update available. The latest version of the D7 foreground and Zoom Rooms apps can be accessed by clicking Upgrade.
Note: In the case of the D7 firmware version 1.3.0 or lower, the Upgrade option will not be visible. D7 firmware should be at least 1.3.2. The Zoom Rooms software should be at least 4.4.1.
What is the default D7 system Zoom image?
Zoom Rooms are designed and configured on the default D7 system Zoom image. Installation requirements for the D7 Zoom image are as follows:
- A version of D7 higher than 1.3.0 is required
- For Windows 10 IoT Enterprise version 1607 or higher as the operating system
- Zoom policies are predefined for the system
- So that Windows security updates are not installed
- Installed. There are two users in the system:

- Zoom: Accesses Zoom Rooms only.
- Zoom Admin: Access the Windows desktop to make network settings, install applications, and modify native policies.
With D7 v1.3.0 or higher, you can perform the following tasks:
- Using the Zoom web portal, update the Zoom Rooms and D7 firmware.
- Zoom MDM will soon be available to manage the D7.
- Manage Windows updates manually.
- In the near future, Zoom portal users will be able to update Windows patches.
Using D7 v1.3.0 or higher, you cannot perform the following tasks:
- Zoom accounts should be deleted.
- Switch the accounts on the two systems.
- Remove the DTEN files.
Common Issues
I just updated Zoom Rooms to v4.4.1. How do I exit Zoom Rooms?
As of Zoom Rooms v4.4.1, the Exit Zoom Rooms button will no longer be displayed in the Zoom Room Settings window.
Zoom Rooms can be exited by following these steps:
- The blue-colored USB port on the top-left side of the display can be used to connect a Windows keyboard.
- The keyboard can be used by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL.
- Click Sign Out.
- Use Zoom Admin (password: Zoom1234) to log into Windows.
I updated Zoom Rooms and received a black screen. What should I do?
To disable Windows auto login, uncheck Enable Windows auto login during installation:

How do I connect the D7 to Wi-Fi?
For version 1.2.2 and below:
- There is an Input button on the lower-right side of the display (the second button from the bottom).
- By tapping PC, you will be taken to the Zoom Rooms home screen or the Windows desktop.
A Windows desktop looks like this:
- In the bottom-right corner, tap the Wi-Fi icon.
- Connect to the network of your choice.
- Click the Connect button.
Zoom Rooms’ home page looks like this:
- Take the exit.
- When prompted, enter the passcode for the room.
- In the bottom right corner, tap the Wi-Fi icon.
- You will have to choose from the available network options.
- After you click Connect, you will have to follow the instructions on the screen.
For version 1.3.0 and above:
- On the top-left side of the display is a blue USB port where you can connect a Windows wired or wireless keyboard.
- Use the keyboard to press CTRL+ALT+DEL.
- Click Sign Out.
- Use Zoom Admin (password: Zoom1234) to log in to Windows.
- In the bottom-right corner, tap on the Wi-Fi icon.
- From the list of networks, choose the one you would like to connect to.
- Click Connect and follow the instructions that appear on screen.
How do I fix issues with the D7 microphone? (Microphone is not working or the quality is not clear)
- Plug in the DTEN mic array bar on top of the unit again after unplugging it. If the system detects the media bar, you will be informed and a plug-in sound effect will be played.
- Zoom Rooms can be accessed from the application by tapping the bottom-right corner of the screen and then selecting Settings.
- Then tap Microphone.
- To select the Microphone (DTEN Mic Array 7) as the source, tap the Source field.
How do I fix issues with microphone echo?
To fix severe audio echo issues, follow these steps:
- You can tap the Settings icon in the lower-right corner of the Zoom Rooms application by tapping a blank area of the screen.
- Select Microphone.
- Check the Reduction excessive reverberation box. Click here for more information.
You can now run an echo test after enabling those settings.
How do I troubleshoot Proximity Direct Share on the D7?
DTEN D7 serial numbers can be found on the DTEN website. Contact support@dten.com if it contains 41 (e.g. DB0355A1C0A414300XXX). Our support team can help you with this.
Ensure the following requirements are met:
- Zoom Rooms configured on the account
- Shared computers and Zoom Room computers need to be on the same network
- Running DTEN D7, version 4.0 or higher.
- Version 4.0 or higher of Zoom Rooms for Mac and PC
- On the desktop client
- (Windows or Mac), regardless of the operating system
- Installed on the computer (Linux, version 2.7.162522.0121 or higher)
Note: When users are able to share content using Wayland, they will be prompted to enter the meeting ID in order to share content.
- You can set up your Zoom Rooms to use automatic direct sharing by using Ultrasonic proximity signals in a set of Zoom Rooms you have in your account.
Why is the whiteboard button missing on the screen?
Zoom Rooms for Touch is pre-installed on the DTEN D7. The whiteboard is accessible without requiring a login. It is accessible both before and after meetings.
Contact support@dten.com if you do not see the whiteboard button.
Why is the shutdown or reboot button missing on the screen?
Support can be reached at support@dten.com. A Zoom Rooms installer will contact you and guide you through the installation process.
What’s the default password for exiting the Zoom Rooms app on the D7?
By default, a password shouldn’t be required. Passwords that work are 00000 and 97979797. Zoom’s web portal lets you view your passcode.
What’s the default login for D7 Windows users?
Users of Zoom Rooms who automatically log in:
- Username: Zoom
- Password: Zoom123
Windows admins should follow these steps:
- Username: Admin of Zoom
- Password: Zoom12345
The D7 automatically shuts down at midnight and turns on at 6 AM. How do I fix this?
We are aware of this issue and have fixed it in version 1.2.2. Please follow these steps to check the version of your DTEN D7:
- To access the input menu, simply click on the input menu button (located on the backside of the DTEN D7, lower right side, second button from the bottom).
- In the lower-right corner, you will find the version number.
- In order to obtain a firmware upgrade, contact support@dten.com if the version is 1.2.2 or below.

How do I access PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) controls on the D7?
Note: Each PTZ has a different function depending on its hardware. Zoom Rooms that do not support PTZ should be contacted at support@dten.com.
PTZ controls are accessed as follows:
- Tap the three-dot vertical ellipsis icon (bottom right corner) to pause the meeting.
- To open PTZ controls, tap Camera Control.
How do I increase the speaker volume?
Note: Ensure that you have the latest version of D7. There has been an improvement in the speaker volume of version 1.3.4.
Using the volume buttons on the back of the DTEN, lower-right corner, you can increase the volume. You should also change the default speakers to the built-in speakers of the DTEN:
- Select Settings in the lower-right corner of the DTEN touchscreen by tapping a blank area of the screen.
- Tap Speaker.
- Choose DTEN Board as the audio output source.
- The speaker will be tested by tapping the Test Speaker button.
- You can adjust the volume by adjusting the slider.
Can I disable Zoom Rooms for Touch user interface?
DTEN D7 comes pre-installed with Zoom Rooms for Touch, which can’t be disabled. Unlike the regular Zoom Rooms controller, Zoom Rooms for Touch features the same controls as the regular Zoom Rooms controller.
Does Zoom Rooms support dual touch screens on the DTEN D7 55” Dual?
To set up dual monitors in Zoom Rooms for Touch, follow the instructions carefully.
How do I pin or spotlight a participant’s video in Zoom Rooms on the D7?
- Organize a meeting or start a new one.
- You will see the bottom bar if you tap the screen.
- Click Settings.
- Click Manage Participants.
- Select the participant you wish to highlight.
- Select Pin Video or Spotlight Video.

How do I save a whiteboard on the D7?
Send an image of a whiteboard, along with annotations, via email to save and share the session. There will be a separate image for each page of your whiteboard.

How many participants can the D7 handle?
In a meeting, video quality and sharing features can affect how well the meeting goes. Up to 60 participants can be accommodated on a standard DTEN D7.
How do I change the time zone?
- The blue-colored USB port on the top-left side of the display is the best place to connect a Windows wired or wireless keyboard.
- On the keyboard, press CTRL + ALT + DEL.
- Then tap Sign Out.
- You will need the Zoom Admin password (Zoom1234) to log in to Windows.
- Find the Date & Time settings by tapping on the Windows icon.
- From the drop-down list, select the time zone that you would like to use.
How much CPU on average does the D7 use when running Zoom Rooms?
The video quality and sharing capabilities in a meeting will determine the quality of the video. Up to 60 people can be included in a standard DTEN D7 meeting.
