Error: ‘Your email address is associated with another WebEx account’ While Sharing a Recording
When attempting to share a recording, you may see the error message “Your email address is associated with another WebEx account.”
It is not possible to send a recording to a third-party user.
If the recording is protected and has the option to “Require users to sign in” enabled, then an error will be generated when the host tries to share the recording with a user who is not affiliated with their firm. There is a message that says “Your email address is associated with another WebEx account.”
To resolve this issue:
- Access your Webex account by logging in.
- You can listen to your recordings by selecting the Recordings tab.
- Make sure the Recording is selected, then click the Modify button.
- You’ll find this under Access Settings > Security > Uncheck the box that says “Require users to sign in.”
- Keep scrolling until you reach the bottom of the page, and then click the Save button.
Note that if you select the box labeled Require users to sign in, all visitors to your Webex site will be asked to sign in before they can view or download the video. People who do not have an account on your Webex site are unable to see or download the recording in any way.
