Enable or Disable Video for Calling in the Webex App
The Webex app has the ability to be disabled by partners and customers with full administrator rights, for the purposes of preventing video for calls and other Webex services from showing during a call. Using the Control Hub, you can enable and disable the video option for any Calling license and configure it at an organization level or at a user level depending on the needs of the organization.
Enable or Disable Video for Your Organization
It is possible to set the default video settings for the organization from the Control Hub. The user settings are where you can make exceptions for specific users.
Before you begin
A number of settings will be set automatically when a user is created based on settings that are set at the organization level.
When you go to https://admin.webex.com, you will see the list of services listed on the left-hand side.
Choose Calling > Client Settings from the drop-down menu.
You can disable or enable the video default settings from the In-call experience by selecting the toggle:
-
Video on desktop—Desktop users will be able to use video calling for calling, and the default setting for answering calls will be set for answering calls with video.
-
Video on mobile—Supports video calling for mobile users, as well as setting the default option to answer calls with video on, so that users can support video calling.
Enable or Disable Video for a User
The user view can be found in the customer view under https://admin.webex.com.
You will need to select the user for whom you would like to make changes.
Choose the Calling > In Call Experience option from the menu.
You can toggle the video options on and off by clicking the toggle button:
-
Video on desktop—Default video calling support for desktop users can be set to enable a feature that allows them to answer calls with video enabled.
-
Video on mobile—Support video calling for mobile users, as well as setting the default option to answer calls with video on, so that users can support video calling.
It is the user’s responsibility to make further changes to the video settings once the user has already configured it for them. In this case, the settings of the user will not automatically be reset to the default settings of the organization.
