Enabling Report to Zoom
It is a feature that Zoom provides to help you keep your meetings secure by allowing you to report participants for inappropriate behavior during meetings being a part of the in-meeting security features. A user may select which participants, including any written details, they wish to report, and may add attachments to their report. Zoom’s Trust and Safety team is notified by this report automatically, and if necessary, the user can be blocked.
Prerequisites for changing the Report to Zoom setting
- Free or paid account
- Account owner or admin privileges
How to enable or disable the Report to Zoom setting
Note:
Default settings enable this feature.
Account
You can turn on or off Report to Zoom for all users in your account using the following steps:
- Edit account settings by logging in as an admin with admin privileges.
- Go to the Account Management section in the navigation bar. Then click on Account Settings.
- From there, click on Meetings.
- Click the toggle next to the Report to Zoom button to enable or disable it under In Meeting (Advanced).
- To verify that the change was made, you will need to click on Enable or Disable in the dialog box if it appears.
- Click the lock icon and then click Lock to confirm the setting if you want this setting to be mandatory for all users in your account.
Group
Note:
You will find that Group Management has been renamed to Groups if you created a new Zoom account sometime after the 21st of August 2018; or, if you enabled the New Admin Experience on your account.
Report to Zoom can be enabled or disabled for a group of users by:
- Log in as an administrator to the Zoom web portal.
- Click on User Management in the navigation menu and then click on Group Management in the drop down list.
- Click the applicable group name from the list.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- To enable or disable Report to Zoom, click the toggle under In Meeting (Advanced).
- Verify the change by clicking Enable or Disable in the verification dialog.
Note: - A grayed out option is locked at the account level and it must be changed at the account level if it is grayed out.
- The Lock icon, and then click Lock to confirm the setting, is an option if you want this setting to be mandatory for all users in the group.
User
Report to Zoom can be enabled or disabled by you.
- Log into Zoom via the web.
- Click on Settings.
- Select Meetings.
- To enable or disable Report to Zoom, click the toggle under In Meeting (Advanced).
- Verify the change by clicking Enable or Disable in a verification dialog box.
Note: - In the case where the option has been grayed out, it has either been restricted for the account or group. It is recommended that you contact the Zoom administrator to resolve the issue.
