Error: ‘Connection Failed’ when Attempting to Play a Recorded File from a Playback URL in webex
When trying to play a recorded file from a URL containing a playback link, you are getting the following error: ‘Connection Failed’.
Trying to play recorded files from a URL that has a playback URL record will cause a Connection Failed error.
The playback URL is unable to play the file, and the user receives the error message “Connection Failed”.
Cause:
An error message “Connection Failed” may appear when you try to view a recorded file that has been posted to a playback URL if one of the following causes applies:
-
If the filename in the recording contains special characters such as # or & when it is part of a URL, these characters have special meanings.
-
A firewall prevents access to the file, and the file is located within an intranet network.
Solution:
See below for possible fixes:
-
Delete any special characters from the file name and rename it.
-
The file you are trying to view must be stored on a server that is publicly accessible, without restrictions regarding security, if you are planning on viewing it over the Internet.
-
Check with the Host to see if the file has been successfully uploaded.
