Missed Skype calls on Android.
As a result of Android’s battery optimization protocols, this is a problem that could be caused by the software. Skype may not ring when you are not using it for a while, if you have not used it for a while. The battery optimization settings for Skype may need to be changed in order to work properly. If you are unsure of how to update these settings, please check with the manufacturer of your phone for instructions. -
No sound in recorded Skype calls.
Please download the recording to your device if you do not hear any sound in your recorded Skype calls. This should enable you to hear the audio as expected when you listen to the recordings. -
Issues with notifications not working correctly.
You may want to uninstall and reinstall the Skype application if you are experiencing problems with notifications not working properly. -
Why is the latest version of Skype for Android (6.0+) crashing when viewing webpages in Chromium?
Android System WebView may be outdated if it contains the Chromium component. You can find out more by clicking here.

Why have my instant messages suddenly stopped sending?
Check to make sure that you are connected to the internet. It would be helpful if you could restart the app if you are able to connect to the internet. -
Why can’t I see older messages in a group chat with the chat history enabled?
We are currently working on this issue and we hope that we will be able to resolve it as soon as possible. -

Skype for Linux stops updating if previously installed using the .deb package.
Run this command from your terminal or bash shell if you are experiencing problems updating Skype on your Linux system:Wget -O – https://repo.skype.com/data/SKYPE-GPG-KEY | sudo apt-key add –
The Skype update process will begin again after you have successfully run the command.

Call option missing from Chromium-based browsers.
Please make sure your browser has both AAC and H264 codecs installed before you attempt to make a call if you do not get the option to do so. -
Continually being signed out of Skype for Windows Desktop.
Your Skype app needs to be updated if you are experiencing this issue. If you have this issue, you will need to update it. If you would like to install Skype for Windows Desktop in its latest version, please go to the Skype Download page. -
No sound in recorded Skype calls.
Please ensure that you download your recorded Skype calls to your device if you are experiencing audio problems with your recordings. In this case, you will be able to hear the audio. -
Skype requires access to Screen recording in the Mac System Preferences to share your screen during a call in Skype on macOS Catalina.
The screen share notification may appear on your macOS Catalina screen and if you receive the notification but are unable to share your screen during a Skype call, you will need to grant Skype access for Screen Recording through the System Preferences in macOS Catalina. In Mac System Preferences, go to Security and Privacy, and then to Screen Recording, and then confirm that Skype is allowed to access this feature. -
When trying to change the keyboard layout using a keyboard shortcut in Linux, the Skype file menu opens instead.
The Linux system allows you to change the keyboard shortcut for that particular key combination to another key combination if you wish. -
Skype doesn’t appear as an option when trying to grant camera and microphone permissions in Mac Mojave OS settings.
In order to fix the problem, you will need to run the following two commands:-
It is possible to reset the microphone by using the TCCUTIL program.

In order to reset a camera, use the TCCUIT.reset command.

When signing out of Skype for Linux, the app forgets my credentials when I didn’t select that option.
Using your Linux distribution’s package manager, you should be able to install the gnome-keyring package and that will solve the issue. -
When sharing your screen on Skype for Linux, the red screen sharing border is not shown.
It is not currently possible to display the red border which signifies whether you are sharing your screen when you are sharing it, and what screen you are sharing when you are sharing it. -
Linux users with Wayland display server are not able to share their screen.
There are Linux distributions that don’t support screen sharing due to Wayland display servers (e.g., Ubuntu 17.10). It is possible to work around this problem by using Xorg instead of Wayland as the operating system.

High CPU usage after signing out and/or closing Skype:
This is a problem that we’re working on finding a solution to. -

Issues with copying and pasting photos or links in Skype for Windows 10 & 11 (version 15).
Skype for Windows 10 (version 14) has a problem when copying and pasting photos or links, as it may not work as expected. As we work on this issue, we hope to be able to resolve this in the near future. -
After changing the system language in Windows 10 &11 (version 15), the Skype sign in window may not display correctly.
There may be some language problems when signing in to Skype in some cases, and you may not be able to sign in if that is the case. It may be necessary to restart your computer and open Skype again in order to resolve this issue. -
Issue using a global hotkey while in split view
I have experienced that the global hotkey for mute in Skype for Windows 10 & 11 (version 15) does not work when using split view.
