Get started with Microsoft Teams on Facebook Portal devices
In addition to Windows Teams, Facebook Portal touch devices, including the Portal Mini, Portal, Portal+, and Portal Go, are all compatible with Microsoft Teams. Facebook Portal touch devices are available now on the market.
Teams keeps a complete record of all the activity and notices you receive – including chat messages, channel messages, meetings, and other notifications – while keeping your primary work screen open and accessible, so that you do not have to switch away from it. As long as your display is not locked or logged out, you will always be able to access your Teams collaboration options.
What you need to get started
- There must be an account on Microsoft Teams for your organization
- In the case of your organization using Mobile Application Management, you will need to install Microsoft Intune Company Portal on your company portal in order to be able to sign in to Teams.
- You can manage and protect the data of your organization within an application using Microsoft’s Mobile Application Management’s app protection policies. For example, if an application’s protection policy requires the use of a 4-digit passcode, rather than the device itself, then the passcode would be applied to the application rather than to the device, rather than requiring the device to use a passcode.
- Assuming you plan to secure Microsoft Teams with Mobile Device Management, this is not supported in your organization
-
Note:
-
Microsoft Teams may require an additional mobile device management product that is configured on your portal in order to be able to log into it, such as Microsoft Intune, Workspace ONE, or MobileIron. These products are provided by third parties and are available for purchase through your portal. Support can be obtained from your IT Administrator if you need it.
-
Sign in
If you are using a Portal device to sign into Teams, please follow the steps below.
- Click on the Apps tab and then click on the Microsoft Teams icon.
- Sign in to Teams by opening the app and tapping the Sign in button.
- If you are not logged in, enter the email address that you use at work and sign in.
- Once you have entered your password, you will be prompted to sign in.
- As a corporate user, you must complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) if your company requires it, and do not forget to click Verify.
- You should keep these things in mind when managing mobile applications (MAM) when it comes to mobile application development:
- Through the Apps section of Microsoft Intune, it is possible to download and install the Microsoft Intune Company Portal on your computer. The Company Portal does not require you to be logged in in order to launch Teams.
- You will need to sign in to Teams once you have opened it. Complete the setup process by following the prompts that appear on the screen. In order to comply with the app protection policies of your organization, you might be required to create a PIN.
- In a few moments, you will be logged into the Microsoft Teams for Portal. Immediately to the left of your activity feed will be a quick access area to all of your calls, contacts, voicemail, etc.
In order for Portal to take pictures, record video, and listen to audio while you are on a call or meeting for the first time, you must grant Portal permission to do so. Once you have granted Portal permission, Portal will be able to get your contact information from you.
