Get started with Webex Meetings for attendees
Participating in and collaborating on projects is made easier through meetings. You can meet anyone in the globe online, talk to them over the phone or on your computer, see each other’s videos, and share stuff with each other.
Join a meeting
If you have been invited to a meeting by another person, you will receive an email invitation that includes details on how to attend the meeting. To participate in the meeting, click the link to Join the meeting.
There is a possibility that you will be required to enter a meeting password. You can find it in the invitation email we sent you.
The Meetings app has a straightforward user interface. The various alternatives for meetings are located in the middle, while the participants and additional panels can be found on the right.
Connect audio
Before you officially join the meeting, you can use the preview window to check that both your audio and video are playing and looking correctly. To begin, select the parameters that will govern the audio during the meeting.
- In the Meetings app, select one of the available audio connection methods.
-
Pick the method that best suits your preferences for listening to the audio during the meeting:
Utilize the audio capabilities of the computer You can use your computer with a headset or speakers. This is the sort of audio connection that is used by default.
You have the ability to make adjustments to your headset, speakers, and microphone.
Enter or pick the phone number that you would like the meeting to call you at, either at your place of business or at your home.
Call in—On the start of the meeting, dial the conference number provided on your phone. After you have joined the meeting, you will have access to a list of global call-in numbers.
If you do not connect to the audio, you will not be able to hear any of the audio that is being played during the meeting through your computer or phone. If you are present in the conference room but would still like to utilise your own computer to share content during the meeting, select this option.
- Click the “Mute” button before entering the room if you wish to keep your audio turned off during the meeting.
When your microphone is muted, it will be obvious to you. When you wish to speak out in the meeting, click the “Unmute” button on your microphone.
It’s possible that the host of some meetings won’t let guests unmute their microphones. In the case that you are unable to unmute, the Unmute button will remain locked until the host enables you to do so.
Start your video
You have the option of customising the video settings that will be used in a meeting before you either start it or join it.
- Click the Stop video button if you wish to participate in the meeting with your video turned off.
You will be able to tell when your video is no longer playing. When you are ready to play your video, click the Start video button.
Share content

When you record a video of yourself, it will play back in mirror view by default. If you wish to see yourself in your self-view video the same way as other people in the meeting see you, you may turn off the mirror view feature by selecting the option in the menu.
You can keep the audio and video settings that you selected for this meeting and use them for future meetings if you are satisfied with the selections you made for this meeting.
Utilizing a virtual background is an option for you in the event that you require increased discretion or wish to reduce the likelihood of viewers being distracted by your movie. Click the Change background button, and then select whether you want to replace or blur your current background.
