Using the mobile device management (ZDM) tool from Zoom, system administrators can assign Mac computers to Zoom rooms. The device will automatically be logged into the Zoom Room that you have selected from the web once assigned and the Zoom Room has been powered on. We don’t require activation codes, login credentials, or pairing codes in order to use ZDM. Furthermore, in ZDM you can perform similar actions as upgrading and renaming your devices.

How to complete ZDM pre-enrollment for Mac devices
To manage Apple devices with Zoom, you need an Apple MDM Push certificate. It is essential that you first download and upload the Apple MDM certificate to ZDM, then authenticate it.
- Admins can edit account settings by logging into the Zoom web portal as admins.
- To enroll, click Device Management in the navigation menu.
- Select Apple in the Enroll Devices section.
- Select Upload Certificate.
- The .scsr file can be downloaded from the Download link.
- You will need an Apple ID to sign in.
- Select Create a certificate.
- Browse to the .scsr file you downloaded in Step 5.
- Click on Apple MDM Push Certificate Download.
- Upload the MDM Push Certificate you downloaded in Step 9 to Zoom’s web portal.
How to complete ZDM enrollment for Mac devices
Individual enrollment
- Log in as an administrator to the Zoom web portal.
- Navigate to Device Management, then click Enrollment, and then click Enrollment.
- A window will appear asking you to enroll manually.
- Follow Step 2 of the instructions. Ignore Step 1 of the Supervised Mode instructions and continue with Step 2.

- You will need your Access Code to register in the Zoom web portal
- Portal. Once you have downloaded the configuration profile, open it.
- To complete the enrollment process, you will have to install Zoom Rooms MDM on your computer.
Automated Enrollment with Apple Business Manager (ABM) / Apple School Manager (ASM)
- Edit the account settings by logging in as an admin with the Zoom web portal.
- Go to the Device Management section, and then click Enrollment.
- Select Automated Enrollment.
- Select Upload Token.
- Click on Zoom to download the public key.
- Log in with your Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager account.
- Click on the Settings tab, then the Device Management Settings tab, then go to the Add MDM Server section to create a MDM server.
- In step 5, you downloaded the public key for your MDM server from Zoom and added it to your MDM server screen.
- Next, you upload your MDM server token.
- Click Devices on ABM or ASM once the token is uploaded.
- To assign your newly created MDM server to the device, choose Edit Device Management.
- Click on Refresh on the Enrollment page once the device(s) has been successfully assigned to your desired server(s).
- Upon booting a new Mac for the first time, a Remote Configuration screen will appear.To receive the Configuration profile, existing Macs must be factory reset.
- When you see the Apple logo on your Zoom Room Mac computer, press and hold the Command+R keys when you see that on the screen to launch the macOS utilities window on your Zoom Room Mac computer.
- Select Disk Utility and click Continue. Select Show All Devices from the View menu. Identify the volume or disk to be erased.
- Next, click Erase.

- Name: Name the volume, for example, “Macintosh HD”.
- Format: APFS and Mac OS Extended (Journalized) are both options for formatting a Mac volume. By default, Disk Utility displays a format that is compatible.
- Scheme(if shown): Select a GUID partition map.
- On the Utilities window, click Reinstall macOS.
- On the following screen, select the disk to be used for installation. Enter your Mac’s login password when asked by the installer to unlock the disk. It might be necessary to erase your hard drive if it cannot detect your hard drive or cannot install on your computer or volume. Don’t close or shut down your Mac before the installation is complete.
- The remote configuration profile can be installed by clicking Next in the setup assistant screens
Note: Once you’ve enrolled your device and completed the setup screens, the Zoom Room app will automatically be installed and launched so you can start using the new features of ZDM.
