GIPHY integration for Webex App
If your business makes use of the Webex App, and you have the Pro Pack for Control Hub, you have the ability to configure or deactivate the GIPHY integration for those users. You also have the ability to decide whether or not particular user groups are allowed to view website previews when links are submitted to spaces.
Users are now able to share animated GIFs from the library of GIPHY thanks to the integration of the Webex App with GIPHY.
You have the option of activating or deactivating this integration for your entire business as well as for individual groups.
You are also able to pick the GIPHY content rating of animated GIFs that users may share; however, this option is applicable to the entire company and is not available for specific groups.
Even if the GIPHY integration is turned off, users are still able to copy and paste GIFs from other programs into messages in the Webex App.
If you subscribe to Webex through your Service Provider, then your Provider is the one who handles the settings for your app. To alter your settings, you will need to get in touch with the support staff of your provider.
Enable GIPHY integration and choose the content rating
Before you begin
To have control over this feature, you will need to purchase the Pro Pack for Control Hub.
1 Open the Services > Messaging tab when you have successfully logged in to Control Hub at https://admin.webex.com.
2 In the section labeled “Collaboration Restrictions,” check the box next to “Share Animated GIFs.”
3 To determine the appropriate content rating for users, select either “G” for “general acceptance” or “PG” for “parental guidance.”
Remove the GIPHY integration for your organization
You have the option to remove the GIPHY integration from your organization’s instance of Webex App. The Webex App no longer has the GIF option available.
1 Open the Services > Messaging tab when you have successfully logged in to Control Hub at https://admin.webex.com.
2 Navigate to the Collaboration Restrictions section and turn the switch on. Turn off animated GIFs for sharing.
Remove website previews for groups in your organization
To stop website previews from appearing whenever users in a particular group exchange links, turn off this feature in a messaging template first, then apply that template to the groups you want to affect. In order to make use of this feature, you are required to make use of groups.
1 Start by logging in to the Control Hub.
2 Turn the switch off. You can preview shared links for a template by completing the steps in the section of Configure settings templates titled Manage message templates.
3 Select Groups from the drop-down menu under Management, then apply the template to the group you want to use it for.
4 Select a group from the drop-down menu, and then click the Assignments button.
5 Select Messaging from the list of templates located under Settings.
6 To edit the message, first choose the checkbox to the right of “Messaging.”
7 Choose, from the drop-down menu, the template that you customized in the second stage.
8 Select the Save option.
