Guidelines on How to Clean or Disinfect Cisco Webex Rooms
To maintain a clean Cisco Webex Board, Room, and Desk, below are some guidelines to follow.
As a general rule, Cisco recommends using a soft, lint-free cloth when cleaning its products and avoiding using anything abrasive or coarse in nature. Ideally, you should unplug your device before you clean it in order to avoid damaging it.
Cleaning touch glass surfaces
In order to maintain the general cleanliness of Webex Boards, DXs, and Touch controllers, it is recommended that you wipe them with a soft dry cloth or use any usual alcohol-based screen wipe. You should wipe the surface gently with a clean, soft cloth soaked in a solution of 70% isopropyl alcohol for disinfection purposes. The device should not be sprayed directly onto. There should be no use of abrasive cleaning agents, aerosol sprays, or bleach when cleaning your car. In order to prevent a loss of the protective coating of the screen on the glass surface, we do not recommend the use of any other solution.
Cleaning non-touch monitors
The surface of the MX Series and Room Series products can be cleaned by wiping over them with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth, after applying a small amount of non-alcohol-based cleaning agent onto the cloth and gently wiping it off.
In order to prevent chemical damage to the polarizer of the screen, it is strictly forbidden to use acetone, toluene, or alcohol on it.
Cleaning plastic and metal components and enclosures
Using a soft, clean, lint-free cloth, you could apply a small amount of non-alcohol-based cleaning agents onto the surface, then gently wipe it down with a small amount of the solution. As with any type of plastic or metal part of the device, do not use an isopropyl alcohol solution of 70 percent on it since it may discolor or cloud the part over time, as well as potentially degrade the part’s integrity.
You can use 70% isopropyl alcohol as a disinfectant, but you will have to use it at your own risk if you wish to disinfect plastics and metals.
Cleaning textiles and fabrics
It is recommended that you only use a soft dry cloth to clean the textile fronts of our products. The fabric cover should be removed completely (where possible) in the event that the fabric needs to be disinfected. Room Kit and Room Kit Mini video devices cannot be disassembled for the purpose of removing the fabric from them.
The warranty or product guarantee for Cisco products does not cover any damage caused by cleaning and disinfecting your Cisco products as a result of cleaning and disinfecting.
This guideline has been regularly updated over the past several years for the safety and health of our customers and their employees and we will continue to do so as we work with the market leaders in the Global Infection Prevention industry on the best ways to clean and disinfect our products.
