Guidelines to use SMS in zoom app
The Zoom Phone SMS permits you in receiving or sending text messages or SMS by using the zoom mobile app or desktop client. For that, you can also use SMS with a call queue or auto-receptionist.
From this article know about ways of composing a new text message, replying to an existing Sms conversation, and knowing about different Sms features.
Preconditions for using SMS.
- The Sms should be enabled by the zoom admin.
- Calling the plan from zoom phone.
Remember,
- Text messages or Sms following other plans may result in charges.
- The zoom phone users with extension only feature can’t use Sms.
- Zoom phone unlimited, meter, or the pro plan zoom users should receive or send SMS with any Canada or US telephone numbers.
- Should have direct Canada or the US phone number.
- It would support sending Sms from the US or Canada phone numbers.
- Should have International SMS enabled by your admin for sending the SMS text messages to international phone numbers.
Remember, these international Sms would not support image sending.
- Should have zoom mobile app or desktop client version 5.4.7 or above. Remember that in desk phones it would not support SMS.
Way of composing the new SMS message.
Step 1. You have to sign in to the zoom mobile app or the desktop client.
Step 2. Select the phone section.
Step 3. Tap on the SMS section.
Step 4. Below the Sms tab, you will find a compose icon that you have to select.
Step 5. You have to enter either the phone number or name for searching through the contacts directory in the To field. There you can up to 10 entries or phone numbers.
When the recipient is inside the contact directory then the phone number will get replaced by the contact’s name. If not then it will stay as a phone number only.
Remember, when the contact has various numbers then tap on the right arrow icon for viewing or selecting the phone number to send the text message or Sms.
Step 6. Input the message.
Step 7. You can send the message to the mobile app or desktop client.
- Mobile app. Click on the send icon.
- Desktop client. Tap the enter key.
The procedure of replying to an existing Sms conversation.
Step 1. You have to sign in to the zoom mobile app or the desktop client.
Step 2. Select the phone section.
Step 3. Tap on the SMS section.
Step 4. Then you have to press the SMS conversation key.
Step 5. Input a message.
Step 6. For sending the message.
- Mobile app. Click on the send icon.
- Desktop client. Tap the enter key.
Guide to using the SMS features.
At the time of replying to an existing conversation or composing a new SMS, you can think of the below features:
Sending images. (in GIF, PNG, and JPG file format).
Remember, Sending images is permitted one at a time. However, sending MMS images is not supported for international phone numbers.

Mobile app.
Step 1. Click on the plus icon.
Step 2. Select a photo album for picking an image to send.
Step 3. Select done.
Step 4. For sending the Sms enter your message. (Optional).
Store 5. Select the send icon to send the message.
When you input a message then the message or text will get displayed in a single chat bubble of the zoom phone. The rest of the participants will find distinct chat bubbles based on their SMS services.

Desktop client:
Step 1. To pick an image you can click on the file button.
Step 2. Though optional, you can input the message for sending it with the image.
Step 3. Hit the enter key and send the image.
When you input a message then the message or text will get displayed in a single chat bubble of the zoom phone. The rest of the participants will find distinct chat bubbles based on their SMS services.
Call the other SMS participant.
Just click the phone button available at the top.
