How do I change or remove my phone number in Skype?

It is possible to use your mobile number for Skype in several different ways, including signing in, displaying it as Caller ID, or using it to forward Skype calls to another phone so that you do not miss any Skype calls. Changing the mobile number attached to your Skype account can be done in a few places, depending on where you want to do it.

Change or remove your number in your Skype profile

1. Visit the profile page of your Skype account and sign in.
2. Go to your Contact details:
   • The Contact details can be found by scrolling down on the desktop.
   • The Contact details tab can be found on the mobile device by tapping it.
3. When you click Edit Profile, you will see a field where you can enter your phone number.
4. Select the Save button after you have changed the number to the one you want to use.
5. In order to verify your added phone number, click on Verify phone number. In order to verify your account, you will receive a notification at that number.

Change or remove your number in your Microsoft account

1. You can manage how you sign in to Microsoft by going to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
2. In the Account alias section, you will find a list of your email address and mobile phone number.
3. Select Remove next to your phone number.You will need to take some additional steps to remove your phone number from your primary alias, if that is your primary alias.
4. The steps to add a new phone number are quite simple; simply select the Add phone number option and follow the instructions.

Why can I no longer add a home or office phone number?

We are constantly refining the Skype profile experience, which means we may sometimes remove extraneous fields from the profile. To consolidate and simplify the Skype profile experience, we have recently removed the Home and Office phone number options as a part of the latest update. There is an option to remove your current Home and Office numbers from your Skype profile if you already have them. These numbers will be inactivated in your profile, they cannot be updated, but you can remove them. Those phone numbers may not be searchable in Skype in the future as a result of future updates.
