Anyone participating in a Webex session has the ability to examine shared data; however, only the person who has been given the role of Presenter is able to provide presentations, screen/desktop shots, or applications. In most cases, the person who is hosting the meeting or session will serve as the meeting’s presenter.
- Webex Meetings or Training: The host has the ability to designate the majority of the attendees as the meeting’s presenter. They also have the ability to change presenters at any time or regain the position of the presenter. In later releases of Webex, the presenter role could be given to the first attendee who joins the session before the host. If this option is turned on, attendees will be able to present material and share it with one another even if the host has not yet attended the meeting.
- Webex Events: You have the option of inviting panelists, who then become presenters. Presenting at the Event Center is restricted to the Host and the Panelists.
Note:
- There is a possibility that attendees using mobile devices, such as iPhones or Android phones, will be unable to take the presenter ball because to limits imposed by the hardware or system of their device. It is recommended that all presenters connect on desktop PCs or Mac machines for the best possible results. Participants who have joined the meeting using a mobile device will have an icon representing a mobile device placed to the left of their name in the Participants panel.
- It is not possible to delegate the position of presenter to an attendee who has joined the meeting via the Webex WebApp.
Hosts Only
You can designate a presenter or recover your role as the presenter by using one of the following methods:
- Click the Make Presenter button after selecting the participant whose name you want to use as the presenter from the Participants section.
- Select “Make Presenter” from the drop-down menu that appears when you right-click the participant’s name in the Participants panel.
- On the Participants panel, locate the attendee whose name you wish to change, then go to the Participant menu, where you will select Change Role, followed by Make Presenter.
- To select a specific participant to present to, navigate to the Participants panel, click and drag the presenter ball to the appropriate participant’s name, and then click the Yes button.
Attendees
- Simply click on the current presenter’s name in the Participants panel, then click the Yes button once you have clicked and dragged the presenter ball to your own name.
Simply selecting the word “Share” from the Quick Start tab, Menu Bar, or Floating Icon Tray enables each attendee to contribute to the discussion taking place in the meeting. This feature makes it much simpler to switch presenters during a meeting, which significantly improves the overall experience of working together. In the event that meeting hosts desire greater control over the sharing of information, they have the ability to disable this feature while the meeting is in process. This function can be turned off for the site entirely using the Site Administration Page, despite the fact that it is turned on by default.
Note: The participant will no longer see the Make Me Presenter button. This action has been taken.
Note:
- Whenever the presenter is switched, any application or desktop sharing that was previously in process is terminated. Any papers, presentations, or whiteboards that are being shared by the currently active presenter will, however, continue to be visible in the content viewer. Additionally, any polls that the current presenter has opened will continue to be viewable on the Polling tab even after they have been closed.
- If the opportunity to do so is available on the Webex site, attendees have the ability to take on the Presenter role. This feature is activated and ready to use on freshly created Webex sites.
