How do I purchase Skype Credit?

In the Skype app, as well as on the web, you can buy Skype Credit in two different ways.

Important: There may be a new regulation retroactive to October 1, 2021 that is causing your automatic payment to fail if you are in India. Take a look at the changes that will affect you and learn more about them.

In the Skype app, you have the option to purchase Skype Credit

1. Your device must be connected to Skype in order to use it.
2. Make sure that your profile picture is selected.
3. Click on the Skype to Phone option.
4. Click on the Add/Buy Credit button after selecting the amount of Skype Credit you would like to purchase.
5. If you would like to purchase Skype Credit, we will guide you through the process.
6. You can complete your purchase through the App Store or GacPay on a mobile device by selecting Continue under Skype Credit and following the prompts to do so.
     Note: If you are using an Android device and there is no option for GPay, you can select Other, then GPay will appear as an option.

1. Click on the Menu button to open the menu.
2. When you tap on My profile, you will be able to edit your profile.
3. The Discover credit option can be found under the call phones, send SMS, and send SMS options tabs.

Purchasing Skype Credit on the Web

1. Log in to your account
2. One of the two buttons will appear under your profile picture, depending on your choice:
   • Under your profile picture, you will find Discover Credit if you are new to Skype Credit.
   • Please select Add Skype Credit under your profile picture if you have previously purchased Skype Credit.
     
      Note: You may need to clear the history and cookies on your device if you are using an iPhone or iPad, and if you do not have the Discover Credit or Add Skype Credit option, you may need to sign back in again. 
3. You can choose how much Skype Credit you would like to buy by selecting Continue.
4. The Auto-recharge feature can be enabled on your account if you choose to do so.
5. The billing address must be entered if prompted.
6. You can choose from the following payment methods to make your payment:
   • You can save your payment method if you have paid for Skype products before and saved it:
     If you do not have a stored payment method, you can select Use a new payment method to enter a new payment method instead.
   • The following instructions will help you if you are purchasing a Skype product for the first time:
     If you have not previously added a payment method, you will be prompted to do so. Please select the type of payment you wish to make and enter your payment information.
7. Then select Pay now from the list of options, and follow the instructions to pay.

Upon receiving Skype Credits in your account, they will appear as delivered orders, and you will be able to see the amount displayed in Skype as well. The price of the call will be deducted from your account balance when you call mobiles and landlines using your account balance.
