Desktop
Open Teams’ in-app settings
- Launch Microsoft Teams.
- By clicking Settings and more, you will be able to access more options.
- Go to Settings. Your settings can be modified from the navigation bar here:
Update language, time, and date format
Language settings can be changed by following these steps:
- At the top of the app, click Settings and more
- Go to Settings > General > Language
Note: The time and date format in Teams will be the same as the settings for the language, date, and time on your device. Teams displays the date and time in the regional format used in the United States if your display language is English (United States).
On MacOS, you can set the time and date preferences as follows:
- Choose Language & Region from System Preferences.
Setting date and time preferences on a Windows device is as follows:
- You can change the language and time by selecting Settings > Time & Language.
- Your preferences can be selected by selecting the Region.
Ensure your updates are reflected in Teams by quitting and re-opening it.
The time and date formats are also updated when you change your preferred language and region in Teams.
Turn on high contrast mode
From the top menu, select Settings and more, and then go to Settings, and then to General. Choose the High contrast theme under the Theme section of the window. Additionally, you have the option of choosing the Dark theme or the Default theme.
Set teams to start automatically
As soon as your device is turned on, Teams will automatically open in the background and run in the background once you have clicked on it. The app continues to run in the background even if you close it.
When you click on your profile picture at the top of the app, you will be able to check or change these settings at any time by clicking Settings > General at the top of the app. The auto-start feature can be disabled in the Application section. Your settings can also be changed to prevent the app from running in the background or keeping running after you close your browser.
