How to create a Channel on the GO in Microsoft Teams
The Microsoft Teams mobile app allows you to create channels for specific topics or projects. Additionally, channels can be used for meetings, conversations, and file sharing.
Try it!
Create a channel
- Simply tap the More options (…) button next to the team you want and then select Manage channels > Add channel (+).
- Name and description should be typed.
- Decide what level of privacy you want:Any member of the team can see a Standard channel.
The only people who can see a private channel are those you add.
- Then tap Done.
Post to the channel
- If you’d like to mention the channel, you can tap New post and mention it in your post.
- Tap Send after adding text.
Hide a channel
Note:
It is not possible to hide, show, pin, or unpin channels on Android with swipe actions.
- You can watch a channel by swiping left on it.
- Hide can be accessed by hovering over it.
Show a channel
- The hidden channels list can be accessed by tapping them.
- The channel can be shown by tapping it.
Pin a channel
- Swipe left to select a channel.
- To pin, tap it.
Unpin a channel
- You can unpin a channel by swiping left on it.
