How to Cross-post a channel conversation in Microsoft Teams
Whether it is an announcement, a piece of information, or some other type of communication, there may be a need to share information across a number of teams and channels, so how would you go about doing that? If you want to post a message to more than one channel at once, you can do so.
Cross-post a new channel conversation
- Choose New Conversation Format in the channel you wish to create a new conversation in.
- There is a drop-down menu to select from at the top of the new window that appears when you open it, and from there you can choose between New Conversation and Announcement, depending on what you want.
- Select the option to post in several channels
> Select the channels to post in.
- Using the search page, you can decide what channels you want to cross-post to, or you can browse for channels that you are interested in cross-posting to in the channel list. Regardless of where you are a member, you will be able to post. Save the changes by selecting the Update button.
- Your message will be posted to all the channels indicated in the To field after you update it. Send your message by typing it in the box provided and clicking the Send button. You can select which channels you would like your message to be posted to by clicking this button.
Edit a cross-post
Whenever you choose More actions on your post, and then choose Edit from the list of actions, you will be able to edit your original message in the cross-post.
There is also the option to add channels to the list so that you can post, or to remove channels that are already listed. To select a channel that you would like to add to your post, select Post in multiple channels Select channels. If you wish to remove a channel from the list of channels, simply delete it from the To field of the channel entry.
It is important to note that during the process of making a crosspost, you have to select More actions, after which you have the option of selecting Edit Post in multiple channels, then you can select Select channels, and finally you have the option of selecting the channels that you wish to include in the crosspost.
