You can communicate on the Zoom platform not only from a computer, through the official client or the web version. Also, the developers have released a mobile application for Android and iOS. In it, you can both organize video conferences and join them. For some reason, not all users know what to do. We’ve prepared a step-by-step guide on how to connect to a Zoom meeting from your phone .
In total, the application provides two ways to sign in:
- Through the meeting ID.
- Via a link from the organizer.
Moreover, both of them are available even without registering an account. So no additional action is needed, just installing Zoom on your smartphone.
Let’s analyze each of the indicated options in detail.
Entry by ID
Directly in the mobile application, tap on the “Enter the conference” button on the authorization window, or “Enter” in the main window.
Now, in the top box, enter the meeting ID, which is eight digits long. In the column below – the name, it will be visible to other participants. There are two options in the “Login parameters” block :
- Do not connect audio – initially your microphone will be muted.
- Turn off my video – when connected, the camera will be disconnected.
Press the blue button to confirm.
If a password has been set for the conversation, you will also have to enter it. Once the connection is complete, you will be signed in to the other participants.
Using a dedicated link
The conference organizer can send a link to connect. This is a very convenient way to join an online meeting. It is used like this:
- Open the resulting URL in a web browser.
- Confirm its launch through the installed Zoom application .
- Enter your own name in the field provided.
- Now click on the “OK” button .
In the lower left corner of the screen there are two icons that are responsible for turning the microphone and camera on and off during a conversation.
If it is inconvenient for you to communicate by voice, then use the provided chat. Calling it will exit the “Details” menu .
All sent messages will be seen by other participants.
