How to filter Activity Feed in Microsoft Teams

Try it!

To access your Activity feed, select Activity and you will see a summary of everything that’s been happening in the teams you follow, as well as the channels you follow.

Filter your activity

  1. Select Filter from Activity.
  2. You can either type a keyword to filter your feed or select More options (…). The following options are available:
    • Unread messages
    • Mentions
    • Replies
    • Reactions
    • Missed call
    • Voicemail
    • Apps
    • Suggested
  3. It is possible to clear a filter by clicking the X next to it.
  4. To close the filter completely, select the Close filter button once you have completed the process.

View your activity

  • The My Activity option is under the Feed drop-down arrow under Activity.

As soon as the user joins a meeting or while the meeting is being conducted, he or she can apply the filters. The video pane in the meeting room is equipped with a cogwheel, which allows you to access the filters before the meeting (Figure 1).

Activity feed basics

Here you can view your Activity feed which contains a list of everything that has been happening in the channels that you have added to your teams list. To show unread messages, @mentions, replies, and likes, select Filter in the top right corner.

Add an activity:
  1. Select Microsoft Teams from the Activity Library in the Process Builder. tab.
  2. In the Microsoft Teams app. Change Team Settings can be accessed by dragging the tab. You can add activities to your process.
The feed cannot be deleted – only marked as read or unread. A new feed will replace it when it rolls off. Any channel can be disabled from showing in the feed.

Reports on user activity can be viewed here

Select Teams user activity under Report on the View reports tab. Choose a date range under Date range, then click Run report.

To turn off desktop alerts and notifications in Activity, select Off to turn them off. Choose More options > Channel notifications from the channel list in your teams. Just like in settings, you can choose between All activity, Off, and Custom.
Messages in a chat conversation are shown in the chat window. It is possible for participants in a chat to access files that have been shared with them. Those files are shared with those people who have their own OneDrive for Business accounts and are stored in their accounts there. The activity tab shows the person’s recent posts to the team channels that he or she has participated in.
