What is your experience with organizing large meetings or presenting material in them? In order to avoid distracting noise and visuals, you can disable the microphones and cameras of attendees. You can then allow someone to turn on their mic or camera again when you want them to speak or be seen.
Note: Participants calling in to a meeting will not be prevented from turning on their mic or camera if they use the meeting details phone number.

Prevent mic and camera use
Before the meeting
The meeting organizer can disable mics and cameras after scheduling the meeting and sending out the invite so that attendees cannot use them during the meeting. The mic and camera will be off for all attendees (except presenters).
The meeting can be accessed by double-clicking it in the Calendar.
At the top of the screen, select Meeting options.
Do you want to disable the Allow attendees to use the microphone? Do you want attendees to be able to use the camera? Save the changes by selecting the toggle.
During the meeting
All attendees, or any individual, can have their mics or cameras disabled at any time during the meeting by the organizer and presenter.
Note: It is currently not possible for organizers and presenters to use Teams room devices to join meetings.
Disabling all attendees’ microphones and cameras
You can disable attendees’ microphones or cameras by selecting More options next to Participants.
It will appear that attendees’ microphones and cameras are dimmed.
Tip: The Mute all participants option disables participants’ mics without disabling their microphones.
Select More options again and then select Allow mic for attendees and Allow camera for attendees if you would like to enable everyone’s mic at a later date.

You can disable their microphones or cameras by selecting More options next to their names.
Tip: Raising one’s hand signals that one wishes to speak.
Allow someone to unmute or share their video
On the More options menu, select Allow microphone or Allow camera.
Unmuting and sharing video are now possible for that person.
Note: Teams room devices do not currently support this functionality.

Tip: Simply select Mute all next to In the meeting in the participant list to mute all participants without disabling their microphones.

Choose Disable mic (on the main screen) or Disable camera (in the participant list) and hold the person’s name.

Activate the microphone or camera by clicking and holding the name of the participant, either on the main screen or in the participant list.
Using a microphone or camera is now possible for that person.
