How to Park a call in Microsoft Teams

It is possible to place a call on hold on one device and pick it up on another, which is also referred to as parking a call on one device and picking it up on another device. When you are in your call window, you can select More actions from the menu that appears and then select Call park.

You will receive a unique code from Teams once you have parked a call. From here, you will be able to retrieve the call with that code. Copy the code and share it with anyone else who will be retrieving the call if you are not retrieving the call yourself.

You will need to manually enter the parked number into the box provided and you will be able to retrieve the parked call by going to the tab Speed Dial, clicking Unpark, and entering the parked code.

 

The parked call will ring again after five minutes if no one picks it up within that time frame.

Note: In case you do not see any options for call parking in your settings, it is important that you speak with your IT administrator for assistance.

The method for picking up a parked call is very simple; you simply have to click on the Parked Calls button under your dial pad, enter the security code, and then click Pick Up when you are on the same device as the parked call. The call will then return to normal and you will be able to make more calls.
From a chat window in Teams, you can start a call
  1. You can add a new chat by going to your chat list, and clicking on New chat. A new conversation can be started by clicking on the button below.
  2. Your new chat will have a To field at the top where you can type the name or names you want to add to it.
  3. Depending on your preference, you can choose a video call or an audio call. Calls can be started by pressing the button below.
