What is the difference between a meeting and a live event in Microsoft Teams?
Meetings, webinars, and live events are actually all types of meetings, although webinars and live events offer an additional level of control to the organizer of the meeting over how the meeting is led, how participation is controlled, as well as how the meeting is flowed. In the case of a webinar, you can actively participate in the discussion, while a live event provides you with a managed Q&A session that you can interact with in a two-way manner.
How does live event work in Teams?
With the launch of Teams live events, users will be able to stream video and meeting content directly to large online audiences, thereby extending the power of Teams meetings to a broader audience. The majority of live events are aimed at one-to-many communication, whereby the host of the event leads the interaction, while the audience is primarily used for viewing the content which the host has shared with the audience, so participation is primarily restricted to watching the content that the host has shared with the audience.
Can attendees see each other in Teams live event?
The Teams video meeting is a one-way video meeting, which takes place in a video meeting room, in the same way as television or radio broadcasts. As a result, participants cannot see or hear other attendees or add audio or video of their own to the conversation. As an alternative, participants can participate in a typed question and answer session. I find this to be a very handy method of asking questions.
