The Ctrl+F key combination (cmd+F on MacOS) can be used in Teams to search messages within a specific chat or channel by pressing Ctrl+F. If you wish to search within a particular area, you can do so by selecting that area, for example, a chat within the team, or a recent chat session. You will need to press Ctrl+F followed by the search terms you wish to search for, then press the Enter key.

View saved messages

Select your profile picture at the upper-right of your screen and then select Saved if you would like to view your saved messages. If you use a keyword search or a name search in Teams, you will be able to easily find and resume a previous conversation that you have had.

Filter by Date Range

Under the Messages tab, select More Filters to search within a specific date range. You can then search for a specific date range.

By clicking the menu on your own profile photo in the top right, you can access your Saved messages, which allows you (sort of) easily to return to your first message. It is even faster to hold down CTRL+Home at the same time.
Select “Settings” by clicking on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the window. Click on the “Privacy” tablet under the “Profile” tab, and toggle off the option “Read Receipts” on the left side of the window.
Is it possible, however, for an employer of a company to be able to see deleted Microsoft Teams messages in the future, and if it is feasible, what type of software would they use to be able to view them? I can answer this question simply: yes, it is possible to monitor information even after it has been removed from Microsoft Teams, and yes, companies do have the right to do so.
When a message is deleted from Teams, does it remove it from everyone’s view as well? There’s no need to worry if you’re worried that others will still be able to see your deleted Microsoft Teams chats once you have deleted them. Your own message will be removed from the chat when you delete it from Microsoft Teams. The only thing that will be visible to your colleagues is the fact that you deleted something.
Here’s how to do it:
  1. From the left hand side App Bar, navigate to the Teams tab.
  2. Select your team and proceed to the channel.
  3. Go to the Posts tab.
  4. Hover over your Message.
  5. Hit the More Options … (3-dots) button.
  6. Select Delete.
  7. That’s it.
As soon as you receive a message from someone in Microsoft Teams, you will see a notification that it has been sent. However, if the sender then deletes that message before you can read it, then you will see a sentence under that person saying “This message has been deleted” (see the picture below), and you will not be able to view that message.
