There are many different kinds of files, pictures, and links that can be sent when you’re in a chat session.
Send a link
In order to send a link, the easiest way is to select the Format button beneath the message box, then select Insert link from the drop down menu.
Select Insert from the menu, or you can copy and paste the link into the message box, then select Send. Once you have added any display text and the address, select Insert.
You can remove the preview image and thumbnail that appears when you send the message containing your link once you have sent it, and you can close it if you wish.
Note: The ATP Safe Links security feature was created by Teams in order to ensure that any link sent or received by the team is safe for the recipient to choose. You will also be notified if any links you click on are potentially unsafe as an added layer of protection.
Include a file or picture
Select Choose file under the message box if you would like to attach a file or picture to a message. When the uploading process is finished, you will be asked to upload a file from your computer or OneDrive.
If you want to share a file or picture from your computer or OneDrive in a chat conversation, select Choose file.

Your message box can be filled with a link.

Tap this button below the compose box if you would like to add a photo to your message. You can either take a picture or open your photo library to pick out a picture you want.

You can attach a file to a message by tapping Choose file underneath the message box and going to the location where the file is located.
You can open an attachment in a Microsoft 365 app from within a chat or meeting when you tap it from within a chat or meeting. Click the attachment in the conversation tab, or you can go to the Tabs and Files menu in the conversation itself.
As you type your message into the box where you type your message in, you will be able to select Choose file below the box that you type, then select Browse Teams and Channels to view the list of teams and channels. Then select Share a link after selecting the file you want to share. Please note that Teams posts your link to a channel so that the viewers will be able to see what channel and team your file is stored in, along with your link.
