In Microsoft Teams, you can show and hide channels to keep track of important channels.
Hide or show a channel
- You can hide the channel by selecting More options > Hide from within the channel.
- The channel can be unhidden by choosing hidden channels > Show before you select it for hiding.

- Then select Channel notifications from the More options menu.
- If you want to be notified about new posts or mentions of channels, you can adjust the settings accordingly.
- Then click Save.Your preferences determine what notifications you receive.

Using the See All Teams option, tap the team that the channel is a part of, and then tap the circle next to the channel that you want to be visible. By tapping the circle again, the circle will be deselected so that it can be hidden.
Click on more channels underneath the list of channels you have favorited in a team if you want to see all the channels within that team that you have favorited. Choose Manage team, and then select the Channels tab on the left hand side of the screen. It is possible for team owners to add or remove auto-favorited channels from the Channels tab of the team dashboard. You can view the channels by clicking on the channel icon.
By clicking on the “pop out tab” symbol to the right of the header of any of the tabs pinned in your chats and channels, you can also make tabs visible in your chats and channels. This tab will open in a separate window, enabling you to navigate elsewhere while still keeping access to the tab while it pops out in a separate window.

Click Hide. You can always resume an old conversation that you’ve hidden by posting a new message to it, and the chat and chat history will be hidden until someone posts a new message to it.
Select private from the drop-down menu and select who to share the file with as you create a new channel. It is possible to access the files by selecting “documents” located both on the left side and on the right side of the page, which are both located under the “Documents” tab. As soon as a new Team is created in SharePoint, it creates a new Site Collection in it. It is possible to access all channel data within a Team by visiting the corresponding site collection which contains the channel data.
Ensure that the channels are not hidden by making sure that they are not hidden. It is possible to show hidden channels by going down to the team bottom, opening the hidden channels list, and choosing the Show hidden channels option from the menu. If you would like to see if there is any improvement, you may clear Teams’ local cache first.
You can view the hidden channels by hovering over the name of the channel within the “hidden channels” submenu. The eye icon will also appear at the bottom of the window, indicating that you can display the channel by clicking on “Show”. In the sidebar of your Teams channel sidebar, once you have shown a channel, it will no longer be hidden.
