How to uninstall Zoom
Overview
Follow these directions to remove Zoom from your device if you want to do a fresh install or would like to remove Zoom completely from your device.
Instructions
Windows
- Search for “Control Panel” in the Windows search bar.
- Open the Control Panel app.
- Click Uninstall a Program in Control Panel if it is set to Category view.
- Select Programs and Features rather than View by Large or Small icons.
- Then click Uninstall on the Zoom program list.
- To uninstall Zoom, click Yes when prompted “Are you sure?”.
- Zoom can be reinstalled by visiting our download center.
macOS
Zoom for macOS version 4.4.53932.0709 and above can be uninstalled
- Zoom should now open on your desktop.
- You can uninstall Zoom by selecting zoom.us at the top of your screen.
- Uninstall Zoom desktop application and all its components by selecting OK.
- Zoom can then be reinstalled from our download center.
Zoom on macOS versions 4.4.53909.0617 and below can be uninstalled
- Open Finder.
- Click Go at the top of the screen.
- Click Go to Folder…
- Once the folder is opened, enter ~/.zoomus/
- Trash ZoomOpener.
- Continue this process with the remaining folders and files.
- Folder: /Applications/ Move to Trash: zoom.us.app
- Folder: ~/Applications/ Move to Trash: zoom.us.app
- Move to Trash: ZoomAudioDevice.kext in /System/Library/Extensions
- Folder: ~/Library/Application\ Support/ Move to Trash: zoom.us
You may not be able to install Zoom in both the /Applications and ~/Applications folders.
- Please visit our download center to reinstall Zoom.
Linux
Linux Mint, Ubuntu, or Debian
- Open the terminal.
- Type the following command:
sudo apt remove zoom
- and press Enter.
- Zoom will be re-installed once it has been completed.
openSUSE
- Open the terminal.
- Type the following command:
sudo zypper remove zoom
- Then press Enter.
- Zoom can be reinstalled using our download center.
Oracle Linux, CentOS, RedHat, or Fedora
- Open the terminal.
- Type the following command:
sudo yum remove zoom
- and press Enter.
- You can reinstall Zoom from our download page.
Android
Using the Google Play Store to uninstall
- Go to the Google Play Store
- And type “Zoom Cloud Meetings.” into the search bar.
- Click Zoom Cloud Meetings.
- Click Uninstall.
- Tap OK when prompted “Do you want to uninstall this app?”.
- Zoom will then be reinstalled via the Google Play Store once the uninstallation is complete.
Uninstall from within Settings
Zoom can also be uninstalled from within the Android settings menu if the Google PlayStore is not working or you installed it using an APK file.
Note: Due to differences in Android versions and device manufacturers, the Android Settings menu may differ from below.
- Your Android device’s settings can be found there.
- Select Apps.
- Select Zoom, then tap it.
- Then tap Uninstall.
- “Do you wish to uninstall this app?” prompts you. Tap OK.
IOS
- Go to Settings.
- Choose General.
- Then tap iPad Storage or iPhone Storage.
- Click Zoom.
- Click Delete App.
- You will be prompted asking whether you want to delete this app and all the documents and data associated with it, and once you have done that, tap the Delete App button.
- Zoom can then be reinstalled on your iOS device.
