How to Use Google Hangouts Chat integration for Zoom
You can start an instant meeting or join an existing scheduled meeting using BOT commands including, for example, “start meeting”, by integrating Zoom’s Hangouts Chat functionality. Your Zoom account meeting list will include all meetings that have been created through Hangouts.
Prerequisites for Hangouts Chat

You will need a Google Hangout account to use Google Hangouts

Google Hangouts has been pre-approved in the Zoom App Marketplace for use with its Hangouts app
Note: If your Zoom administrator has not pre-approved the app, then you will need to contact them.
How to install and configure Hangouts Chat
Install and configure from the Zoom App Marketplace

You will need to sign in with your Zoom account in order to access the Zoom App Marketplace.

In the top right corner of your screen, you will find a search box where you can enter Hangouts in order to find the app.

If you found Hangouts in your search results, click on it and you will be taken to the app.
Note: In the event that the Zoom app does not have pre-approval, please contact your Zoom administrator so they can approve the app for your account. -
Then click the Add button.

Click on the Allow button after you have confirmed the permissions that the app requires.
Zoom bot will automatically be enabled once it has been enabled in your Google Hangouts account and you will be redirected there so that you can begin using it immediately after it is enabled.
Install and configure the integration from Hangouts Chat

Ensure that you are logged into your Google Hangouts account.

Message a BOT can be sent by clicking the + icon and then clicking Message A BOT.

Zoom can be found by searching for it and choosing to message it.
It will be the Zoom BOT that greets you. Please reply back so that we can start the process of authorizing and configuring the Bot. -
To set up the BOT, you will need to click Configure in the pop-up box following the setup wizard.
The Hangouts Chat and Zoom integration will be redirected to a page for you to authorize. -
The Zoom BOT will be available to you at any time once you sign in and authorize it.
How to use the Zoom BOT
List all commands
There are many possible commands that can be entered by typing help. There will be the following information displayed on the BOT:
Start a meeting

You will need to type @Zoom.

Zoom BOT can be selected by clicking on it.

The meeting can be started by entering the start command.
Note: Using the default Zoom meeting settings, the meeting will be created in your Zoom Meeting list using the default settings from your Zoom meeting settings. You can also choose to send a message containing the password to all your members if you have a meeting setting that requires a password for members to be able to participate. -
Click on the Join button if you would like to join the meeting.
Upon clicking the Zoom button, you will be able to open the Zoom application in your browser.
Start a meeting with a specific topic

The @Zoom symbol should be typed in.

Zoom BOT can be selected by clicking on it

It is possible to start a meeting with a specified topic name by typing start followed by the desired topic name.
Note: You will then be able to create a meeting in your Zoom Meeting list using the default settings that you have selected in your meeting settings. In addition, you will be able to set up a meeting to require a password. If you do so, a message will be sent to all members containing the password, which will then enable you to join the meeting. -
If you are interested in joining the meeting, click Join.
There will be a Zoom link open in your browser which will open the Zoom application for you.
Join a meeting

You will need to type @Zoom.

Zoom BOT can be selected by clicking on it.

In the Join field, enter the Meeting ID of the meeting to which you wish to join, followed by the Join key.

You can join the group by clicking the link below.
In order for Zoom to open its application in your browser, you will need to click on a Zoom link.
Meeting summary and recording link
If the BOT records the meeting using the cloud, then the BOT will post a meeting summary and a link to the recording after the meeting has been completed.
How to uninstall the Zoom BOT

Go to the Google Hangouts website and sign in to your account.

You can message a bot by clicking the + icon and then clicking the Message A Bot button.

Zoom can be found by searching for it, then selecting the message option.

Type the word logout in response to the BOT.
Zoom’s BOT will be deauthorized as a result of this action.
How your data is used
Using the Zoom app, you are giving this app access to and making use of the following information:

Meeting details (meeting number, topic, join links, password) – once the meeting has been created, they will appear in Hangouts Chat for the participants to see.

Meeting summary including participant/host names, meeting timezone, meeting duration, and meeting date – after the meeting has been completed, a summary of the meeting will display in Hangouts Chat.

Meeting recording info -After the meeting has been completed, the results will be displayed in Hangouts Chat.

Slash command info (User display name, email, avatar URL) – this information is used when creating a meeting from the Hangouts Chat application
