How to Use the dial pad to make a call Microsoft Teams

It is possible to make a phone call to a phone number using the dial pad just like you would do with a typical phone. It is also possible to type in names or groups as well.

In order to dial a number from Teams, you will need to go to the Calls menu, and then press the dial pad located on the left-hand side of the screen, and then enter the number of the person you wish to reach. Afterwards, click on the button that says Call.

Using the dial pad, you can give a person a call by typing their name into the box provided. There is also the possibility of making group calls in which multiple names and/or phone numbers can be entered and the call button is clicked.

 

During the course of a call, you can access your dial pad by going to the call controls and selecting Dial pad from the drop-down menu.

Important: 

Unless Teams is connected to the internet, you won’t be able to make an emergency 911 call if you are not using it.

Note: 

It is possible that your organization does not have a calling plan if you do not see the option to dial a number. There is still a possibility of making calls to other people in Teams, however.

Mobile

Using the Calls icon, you can make an outgoing call by entering a phone number and tap ‘Make Call’. Tap on Calls > Contacts and select the person you would like to call if you have enabled the setting to allow Access to your Phone Contacts.

It is recommended that you use the dial pad on your mobile device in order to make emergency calls to your country’s specific emergency number. As a result, you will be able to dial your personal phone number as well as any emergency phone numbers you may require in an emergency situation.

Note: 

It is possible that your organization does not have a calling plan if you do not see the option to dial a number. Even so, you will still be able to make calls to other members of your Teams.

Important: 

As long as Teams is not connected to the internet, you will not be able to make a 911 emergency call.

Surface Hub

Using the Surface Hub, you can make phone calls to landlines and mobiles over the PSTN by tapping Call from the home screen and then tap Dial Pad.

It is necessary to enter the number you wish to call into the dial pad once you have accessed it.
