Using the zoom phone role management, it will be easier for you to operate on the access of the features for the Zoom web portal. Default roles.
Primarily there you will find four main zoom phone roles. Check below-

Remember,
- The zoom phone admin role would not need to be targeted as it applies to every feature and settings in the web portal.
- You directly do not have the permission to alter the privileges for the default roles. You can duplicate the role and then alter the privileges.
Way of adding the members to roles.
If you want to specify the role privileges to the zoom phone users then you can add members to the role.
Step 1. You should zoom sign as an account owner or anyone having editing privileges.
Step 2. From there go to the navigation menu from where tap on the user management followed by role management.
Step 3. Tap on the phone section.
Step 4. You choose edit near the role you wish to assign the members to.
Step 5. Then tap the role management section.
Step 6. Further, add the members.
Step 7. Input email numbers or names which will brief about the users to get added as zoom members.
Remember, in such cases, a zoom phone license is mandatory for the zoom users.
Step 8. Finally, tap on add.

Can you add the targets to members?
You can add the targets which will specify the auto-receptionist, call queues, or the sites. The zoom role member can edit or view it. Further, try to add various targets for each member.

Step 2. From there go to the navigation menu from where tap on the user management followed by role management.
Step 3. Tap on the phone section.
Step 4. Tap on the edit near the role you wish to edit.
Step 5. then choose the role members tab.
Step 6. You have to tap on the role member name you wish to target.
Step 7. Tap on add targets.
Step 8. Choose from the auto receptionists, call queues or sites in case of adding the member.
Step 9. Then tap on add.
Procedure to duplicate the changing privileges and default role.
For customizing the zoom default roles, you first have to duplicate them then you can customize them. Otherwise, you can’t. Here’s how:
Step 1. You should zoom sign as an account owner or anyone having editing privileges.
Step 2. From there go to the navigation menu from where tap on the user management followed by role management.
Step 3. Tap on the phone section.
Step 4. You have to tap the duplicate available near the default role. ( you can find the role’s copy below the role’s table).
Step 5. Then tap on edit near the copied role.
Step 6. From the role settings section, you can alter the privileges.
Step 7. Allocate the targets and members to the role.
What are the privileges?
You can alter the phone privileges based on the default role you have duplicated.
Phone Super Admin.
- Phone Number. Editing or viewing the phone number settings.
- User and Rooms. Editing or viewing the zoom rooms, phone users, common area phones.
Remember, The privilege comprises the setting I ball delegation for the zoom phone users.
- Manage emails that receive forwarded voicemails. Through this, you can view or edit emails wherever voicemails are forwarded to.
- Audio Library. Edit or view the account level or site level audio settings.
- Call log. You can edit or view the account level call log.
- Every other feature. Editing or viewing other features like call queues, auto receptionists, etc are possible.
PhoneSite Admin.
This kind of role avails similar discretion to that of the phone super admin. However, privileges are limited to the target sites. For instance, the phone number privilege will permit the members in viewing or ending the phone numbers. You can also edit the phone numbers which are assigned to the target sites.
Call queue admin.
Remember, this discretion solely applies to the specified target call queues.
Elements of queue management.
- Management of the basic information. All the basic info such as phone number, time zone, extension number, prompt language, or the site can be viewed or edited.
- Voicemail access. You can play or view the voicemail. You can also delete and download the voicemail.
- Configure automatic call recording. Editing or viewing the policy set for auto call recording.
- Manage user’s access to the recording. It can edit or view users for accessing recordings.
- Recording Access. Playing or viewing the recordings. Delete and download recordings. You can download or delete the recordings.
User Access Management.
- Manage user access to voicemail. You can either edit or view the user’s access to the voicemail inbox.
- Manage emails that receive forwarded voicemails. You can edit or view the voicemails for the policy setting of the transcriptions.
- Voicemail access. Playing or viewing the voicemail. You can delete or download the voicemail.
- Other features. One can edit or view other features. (It also includes the settings not specified above. )
Recording Admin.
Remember, discretion is included for the specified target sites, call queues or users. The discretion or privilege excludes the ability to manage the zoom user access of the call recordings. You also can have the privileges via the call queue admin role. You can assign the phone site admin or phone super admin role to permit zoom users to coordinate with other users in availing the call recordings.
- Download. Downloading the call recordings.
- Delete. Deleting the call recordings.
- Recording access. Play and view the call recordings.
